US release date could be July 12th!

I ordered my N7 8GB through the play store on June 28th. No charges to my card yet.

Shipping from California to Buffalo is probally going to take the full amount of time so Im guessing I won't see the tablet until friday or later.

This is replacing my Xoom, very excited to use the smaller form factor on the go. The Xoom is just a little to big for anything but surfing while on the couch IMO.

It's said that if you order was in by June 29th that you would be part of the 1st wave of shipping. Plus us who have pre-ordered by June 29th now see three books in our Google Play account that come pre-loaded on the device.

Gamestop says the second wave will be Aug 7th

I don't see those books. Where are they exactly? What are they?

I'm in the same boat as JoeUserTX it seems...

I think we will all see them on the same day. I doubt that Google is actually doing the fulfillment. I bought a Google Nexus phone for my son and it was shipped via UPS 2nd day which showed up the next day. The package originated from Louisville, KY where is where UPS has their air hub (Fedex is in Memphis). Most companies outsource their fulfillment to UPS and Fedex (among others). I used to do some contract work for the logistics group at UPS in Louisville.

I have three books, pride and prejudice was one of them. I don't think they have anything to do with ordering the nexus tablet though.

These are the ones that show for me. Who knows how long they have been there.

Oh I've had those; I'm 90% sure I had those a month ago as well, at the least I had Alice at that time (I was trolling Google Books to find free stuff and noticed "My Books" was filled with books didn't particularly care for).

These are the books that you will get with your tablet once you log into your google play account.....I have the same 3 books.

Staples already charged me so I assume the time table they provided of eta 7/17 is prob correct.

I thought "The Bourne Dominion" was supposed to be one of the books?

I've been gone for 5 hours and all of a sudden the thread has another 3 pages...

Agreed. Im in the same boat. These have been in my account because we already own android devices that are tied to our google account. What is interesting here is there are several that dont own any android devices yet (N7 is their first), and these books are showing up in their accounts. Something is definitely happening. Who knows if we will see any shipments this week, but its fun to speculate about.

I ordered as soon as it came available on Google Play. Was charged and charge was taken off. Just checked my ING account and still no charge shown. Was hoping today was the ship day :(

Honestly, I don't think there is a "first wave" and "second wave". That link is stating that the orders were being prepared for those who ordered before June 30th, which I understand. But time has passed and I'm sure they're packing all the others now too. It wouldn't make sense for someone to order from Staples today and get it on the release date, but someone who ordered from Play on July 1st to get it after the Staples people.

What i'm saying is, yes, they were packing the orders before June 30th, but that doesn't mean they're shipping them and then shipping orders after, it just means that's the date they were up to in packing. Seeing as there are no rumors about a shortage of any kind, I'm pretty sure we're all good to get our tablets on release day, no matter when it was preordered!

But then again you don't know if there will be separate waves. I think the turn out for people who have pre-ordered the Nexus 7 might have overwhelmed them. Just like when a new iPhone comes out not everyone gets one day one lol.

Just ordered mine from Staples. I'm thinking it will ship on the 10th or 11th since thats their "pre-sale cutoff" had mine delivered to my local store. Not sure if that will be quicker but I leave for vacation on the 14th and I figure that will make life the easiest if it shows up on the 14th or later. Says expected delivery date is the 17th but I know that my Staples receives their deliveries from corporate on Fridays so I guess we'll see.

When I talked to a Google cs rep, after I kept pressuring him to tell me anything he knew about shipping, he said that there are indeed multiple waves they were working on, and my order was in the first wave (I ordered on the 29th). He said it was being packed and readying for shipment as we spoke.

Then I came on here and saw the wave argument and was surprised.

Obviously cs reps usually are not right so take it as a grain of salt.

It's not that you should take it with a grain of salt. You can look at many past examples (iPhone, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) and if the demand for a device surpasses the initial stock of the device there is waves of release. First come first serve.
