US release date could be July 12th!

This is promising!

"...the original pre-order text is now gone and a sales representative we spoke with confirmed the Android 4.1 tablet will be arriving at the company's warehouse at some point today."

Nexus 7 arrives: here's where you can buy it right now | The Verge

If this is true, I'm definitely disappointed in Google! I know its not their fault that stores don't honor dates, they didn't have to send um out in the first place to these stores!

Exactly. Should have shipped to loyal play store customers first, THEN to the retailers.

Well, the reason I say it's promising is, if Google is now allowing other retailers to sell the N7, they should be in the hands of people who ordered through the Play store very soon as well.

I feel if Google allowed these retail stores to start selling, we would already have tracking numbers....yet we don't, so either they're breaking the release date or its some kinda bug where they were expected to start selling today and maybe pre set their system to allow selling today and forgot to change it back! But who knows

The point of the article is that the online retailers are able to start taking orders, not pre-orders. Which means they can ship them soon, which (I hope) means that our pre-orders will ship soon. Just trying to be optimistic. It's all a speculation game right now....

why google why! why do thy have to torture us by not releasing any info?
please! I'm tired of playing waiting game!:(

I just hope that when someone does get their hands on a delivered product that they start a new thread. This one is getting a little ridiculous to keep up with... :p

Seriously? If you go to the xda forum, it's over 400... 40 is such a small number compare to that.

upon reading a link someone posted, someone who pre - ordered a few hours after the page went up got their UPS tracking number today.

Hmm... smells like...

oh god its the thunderbolt all over again!
:P jk jk....

that was WAY worse!

Lol I was part of that Thunderbolt thing. God that made me crazy. By the time the phone came out it was already obsolete. Shipped with Froyo while Gingerbread had been out for 4-5 months already. This definitely isn't that, but I was starting to think the Galaxy S III on Verizon was going to turn into that. They formally came out and said July 10th, then pushed it to July 12th, and the fact that they were the last to even announce a date. But it is out now.

Anyway, come on Nexus 7! I want you so bad!

Edit: Worst part is, Diablo III servers are down so I don't know how to kill time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.>

Considering the Nexus 7 will be my first Android device (and first tablet for that matter) I could probably kill some time waiting for availability news by researching tips/tricks/usability videos.
