US Unlocked Ultra - camera update rolling out !!

If you're on Verizon and you received an update within the last 24 hours, you got a security update. If there's a noticeable improvement in focus, the conditions may be different in your testing.

The update mentioned nothing about camera and stated it was a security update.
You could be right. The update doesn't mention camera at all in the docs.
But that was a huge update at 415MBs. Usually security updates are a lot smaller.

That's because people are jumping the gun trying to report update but not reading the log completely. As it stands no one has received a U.S update that makes mention of camera improvements.
So much confusion...lol. Includes camera update/doesn't include camera update. So unlocked vs locked doesn't matter with recieving updates? It's still carriers that roll out updates?

It isn't about jumping the gun. I honestly believe that the update included the fix for my S20 Ultra. My focus was hella bad...terrible It was to the point that I was looking at other phones to exchange my Ultra for. After I got that the update, I went out, popped the camera open and noticed the focusing worked as it should. No jumping, quick focusing etc. My update was file was the same size and everything. I have no reason to think or even believe that the update didn't at least fix the focusing issue that I was experiencing.

Just because the fix isn't listed in the update log, do it actually mean the fix isn't there? That's why I said go test your camera after you get the update.

For the camera, I found this online. I don't know how much truth it is to this. But If you open the Camera App, Go to Settings, Then About. If the camera version is not 10.0.01.98 or higher, you do not have the new camera update.

There is a camera software update , we had 10.0.01.92 and after the update it's .98. Verizon here but they're rolling it out everywhere.

unlocked S20 Ultra on Verizon, received the update today. It seems no one knows for sure what the fixes are if any, so sad. A detailed change-log would be helpful.

If this is a camera update, it's not a very good one. I already had the March security update like some have said. I tried getting close to a qr code for the phone to read it and it still doesn't focus well. I feel the way this camera is set up you are very limited to how close you can get to an object. It curves the item a bit as if the camera is just simply not designed to take super close photos. Pull back a couple inches and it becomes crystal clear. Still see the very small field of focus also. Almost a perfect circle of focus and everything else is blurry.

My version is 98. I would recommend to anyone who hasn't downloaded the update to check their camera version prior to downloading then recheck after to see if the version changed.

Yep the camera version of the update is 10.0.01.98 after the update. Those telling me it's the security update, relax I'm not a noob lol. We already received the March security update long time back the day we received our phone.

To come back on the change log, yeah I know to read as well and yes they haven't mentioned anything about the camera. I don't know if it really contained the camera update or not but it definitely contained some fixes for something and based on what others are reporting in terms of camera version this could be the camera update or may be not. We will know soon when the YouTubers and tech bloggers start reporting.

And to add, the build number after the update matches with what the exynos versions received and mentioned it was the camera update. What you got to say about that?

I don't know what the update actually includes at this point lol.

Other than my camera focus now working great. Another thing I noticed as well, is that my update file size was a little bigger. The OP'update was 415.50mb. Mine was 426. 70mb. Not sure if that matters or not.

If this was the camera update, that really sucks, because on the exynos video the focus was improved tremendously.

I mean the build number is same as what was received on the exynos and we already received the March security update couple of weeks back. This update was also a lot bigger so everyone can make their own conclusions.

Here's the exynos update change log from someone who posted online that had contained the camera update. Same build number ending in ATCH like the ones we received now.
