Since ill be needing more...what would everyone recommend?

Looking for something that can handle the ends bending (mostly for my car).

Also a short cable that can still quick charge it (for my external power) Something 1-1.5 ft.

Looked at Anker but not sure if the braided is really worth it. And 3ft is the shortest they have for now.

My choice is Anker. Good products and great customer service. Benson has reviewed a few of their cables.

Monoprice has also been good for me for many different types of cables in the past, but haven't looked into them for USB-C.

Sorry, but a bit confused here... Are "you" telling me that all these USB cables that I have to charge my S7 (and a bunch of other things) are not going to work on my new S8? 😨

The cable will work, you just need to use the adapter that comes with the S8.

Forgot it comes with one. Thought it only is used for the smart switch since it was a usb in/micro usb out (basically both ends was a micro usb, one to each phone).

Or is the s8 adapter different.

The unboxing video I saw showed a thumbnail-sized dongle that had a female micro usb connector at one end and a male usb-c at the other, so it will effectively convert your old micro usb cords to work with the new phones.

Appears Best Buy may have USB C cable and adapters from Belkin and Insignia. Going to check it out today.

Sounds like a great way to spend $20+ for a ~$5 cable. ;)

I actually like shopping at Best Buy, but the prices they still charge for cables are way overpriced compared to equal or better quality cables direct from places like Monoprice, or the various cable suppliers on Amazon.

I hear ya. Instant gratification has a price. Sometimes the $5 cable costs $5-10 shipping. Lol.

I use these and have done for a while now. Anker Powerline+

They are braided cables, which means they don't fray near the connectors. If you use the cable in your car and you live in an environment where it can get hot, i've found the plastic jacketed cables can melt. I've never had an issue with these ones ever.

They also have never thrown up any errors when using them to connect and sync to a computer either.

I've used them on both Android and iOS devices and they have always worked flawlessly. I'm never going to use any other cable.

so ive read that the USB-C cables should have the 56k ohm resister. Cant find if the micro usb cables have it. Does the Samsung adapter have it?

Lol I'm on prime. No shipping. Gonna order some today so they can be here by Friday. I wish there were more USB C to C chargers available.
