USB Device Not Recognized + Phone Stuck in Downloading...

Just did that. Drivers installed, Odin has it recognized. 0:Com6. How do I go from where I am now to Froyo?

Hang tight if you want to go from where you are to froyo, Paul said he would have the file ready in a couple mins.... or just use whatever stock file it provides there for now till paul is ready

@Paul if you need help creating the odin image let me know

Tried about 4 times now and all I get is this after a really long wait. I left it for a while the last time, I came back to it and the screen was all red. I unplugged it, removed the battery, put it back in, and now it wont start up. Guess my phone is bricked?

No...reinstall drivers..use different usb port in the back of the computer ...also disable any antivirus

Reinstalled them. Tried a different usb port. Antivirus disabled. The phone wont start at all and the computer wont acknowledge its been connected to the phone.

Try restarting the computer

If you turn the phone on you get phone...!...computer correct

Nope. Nothing. The phone wont turn on as per my post this morning. I left Odin to work on the phone last night, came back and the screen was red. I unplugged the phone, removed the battery then put it back in, and now the phone wont turn on.

see but if its going into download mode then its salvagable, do you have another computer?

In the odin log you pasted it says it was removed in the middle of loading, that means you were already having a connection problem.

the battery may have died from sitting in download mode all night, try leaving out the battery and following the instructions on gettting into download mode while plugged into the computer

if non of this works and you are truely hard bricked, then you will need a jig to jump start it into download mode you can purchase one from my friend Josh's site

Tried charging the battery on a outlet. Nothing. Tried getting to download mode while plugged in. Nothing.

good luck, sorry that happend , its actually the first time ive heard of a hard brick.

In my dealings i mean

Its alright. I guess Im your first! I Googled the red screen thing and nothing came up. Took it to Sprint, told them I screwed it up while trying to update to Froyo using their utility and then are ordering me a new phone free. Ill have them update me to Froyo when I get it.

Thank you for both your help.

Lesson learned:
1. Dont use a laptop to update my phone
2. Buy better usb cable
3. Protection Plan is neat

Im glad they are getting you a new phone,,, and i didnt realize that it was a laptop,,yeah i never suggest using laptops because they do not have steady voltage.

@DroidXcon, funny part is my Dell Inspiron laptop running Vista 32-bit is solid when it comes to Odin or OneClickRoot/ADB. Usually 1st time is the charm for it.. My desktops are not as dependable...

Just my luck I guess... I do have a Dell Studio running Vista 64 bit, I have yet to try that for Odin but it does run Android SDK fine...

On the subject of Odin and TRUE bricks.. Thats only the 2nd one I've heard of now in the few months I've been in this game... So out of hundreds if not thousands... Thats not a bad ratio..

@siirus09, sorry this happened.. This is one of those RARE occasions.. I'm glad Sprint helped you out on this one.
