USB Device Not Recognized + Phone Stuck in Downloading...

@DroidXcon, funny part is my Dell Inspiron laptop running Vista 32-bit is solid when it comes to Odin or OneClickRoot/ADB. Usually 1st time is the charm for it.. My desktops are not as dependable...

Just my luck I guess... I do have a Dell Studio running Vista 64 bit, I have yet to try that for Odin but it does run Android SDK fine...

On the subject of Odin and TRUE bricks.. Thats only the 2nd one I've heard of now in the few months I've been in this game... So out of hundreds if not thousands... Thats not a bad ratio..

@siirus09, sorry this happened.. This is one of those RARE occasions.. I'm glad Sprint helped you out on this one.

Yeah im sure that there are laptops out there that have solid power supplys and USB connections but i still dont take the chance if i dont have to you ya know

Its alright. I guess Im your first! I Googled the red screen thing and nothing came up. Took it to Sprint, told them I screwed it up while trying to update to Froyo using their utility and then are ordering me a new phone free. Ill have them update me to Froyo when I get it.

Thank you for both your help.

Lesson learned:
1. Dont use a laptop to update my phone
2. Buy better usb cable
3. Protection Plan is neat

Im glad they are getting you a new phone,,, and i didnt realize that it was a laptop,,yeah i never suggest using laptops because they do not have steady voltage.

Funnier part is Im also on Dell Inspirion laptop running Windows 7 32-bit and never had a problem before rooting or transferring stuff, though I blame this partly on the cheap USB cable that came with the phone.

I had never heard of it being a problem, if I knew laptops werent that reliable I might not have tried it, but like Paul said, if Im one of the lucky few out of thousands then I guess its fine.
