USB Host: Can we now get audio integration in cars?

Now that ICS supports Android as a USB host, does that mean it should be technically feasible to plug your Android into your car via usb and have it display your music/media? i* devices have had this integration for years and it would be nice to be able to use the car controls to browse my Android media collection.

Does anyone know about this stuff from a technical standpoint? Is there a spec Android just has to adhere to, or is this i* connectivity a one-off and not transferable to Android?
