So, it was a surprise to me that the S8 uses USB-C as its connection. I've had S3, S4, S7 and they all used USB mini, so now it looks as though I'll be needing to replace all my various chargers---bedroom, office, car, and the two (car and wall) which are permanently in my suitcase so I don't forget to pack them.

BUT - the good news is that I found adapters! https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...nker.com%2Fproducts%2FB8174011&token=DkjWnPtM

My only other issue will be my portable battery. I lost the cord for that, and I don't really want to have a 3' cord to tote around when I'm out for long periods and need to charge my phone on the run. My portable is fine, but I need a 6" cord! :p

Hi there! Shouldn't have been a surprise since that's where everyone else is going and the Note 7 had USB-C, too (and USB Mini hasn't been used in phones in ages, mostly just videogame controllers and bulky cameras now... your S7 used microUSB :) ).

The phone comes with one USB-C cable and once microUSB-to-USB-C adapter in the box, so if you want to save some money you can keep everything you have and carry either one around. Wireless chargers don't need to be changed, obviously,

Switch to wireless charging. Problem solved. Plus, it is so much more convenient than plugging in and out of the phone with cords. Because of that, your battery tends to stay topped off more
