USB PD standards - rival to Huawei's QuickCharge on the Honor 8?

Recently, I had the chance to use my Honor 8 with what I presume was a USB PD charger - it charged even faster than my QuickCharge charger (11% to 77% in about half an hour) but was not a Huawei charger. I am wondering if anyone else can verify my experience with it - if it's true, it would make it a lot easier for people that want to get fast charging third party chargers for their Honor 8 but don't want to buy a Huawei charger.

Interesting. I had a usb pd charger with my old pixel xl but i already sold it. I can give it a try if i get the new pixel

I have noticed a faster charge with PD. Compared to my ASUS charger for my ZF2, the PD charger for the Pixel was a little faster. But as I recall, not by much.

Not sure. I only mentioned it as I think that is the only QC plug I have.

Oh, I see. The Honor 8 indicates if it's QuickCharging by showing two lightning bolts instead of one in the battery and on the lockscreen with the words "Fast charging - x%"
