USB Port Problem

I had my phone for about 2 years, and the problem popped up about a year ago.

So originally, I had a minor problem with charging the phone. The cable that came with the phone didn't work (no charging or syncing) unless I physically wrapped the cable around the phone once over. I thought the problem was the cable so I dealt with it until I could've gotten a new one.

Now, the cable won't even fit in. After inspection I saw a protrusion preventing me from inserting the cable. I provided a fairly low quality picture, but you can clearly see a staple-like object in the port. I tried messing with it to get it to work with a sewing needle with no avail.

So the question is, what should I do now? Is there anything I can do at home or am I going to have to go to a dealer to get it fixed?

Re: USB Port Problem

Unless you can identify this "protrusion", I would suggest you take the phone into a repair shop. This is a charge port and any wiggling, pulling, probing, might cause a short if this is metal.

2 years old? You deserve a new phone and this old one is asking you to let it retire!
