usb wifi adapter?

Is there anyway to use the note 4 as a usb wifi adapter? I tried to use use tethering but it will only work if it's on mobile data.. us there an app that tricks the phone in using wifi or is there something else I'm missing.

I was thinking about the premise of your question. If the device you're trying to tether already has wifi, why not just connect it to the wifi network? Tethering is for areas where wifi isn't available and so you would use your data plan to turn your phone into a wifi hotspot for your other devices. Or, am I missing something?
