I recently purchased VEC TRX-20 3.5MM Direct Connect Telephone Record Device (ADAPTER ONLY)

I am trying to record straight in to my phone via the 3.5mm line-in.

(Samsung Galaxy S6)

It is possible to use a regular old digital recorder or tape recorder. That is how it is primarily used. But couldn't I use the line in to record in to my phone, like on the native voice recorder app? Or maybe a different app?

Wouldn't the phone be able to capture the audio from this VEC TRX just the same as it would capture audio from the headphones people use with the mic on them for phone conversations?

I'm just trying to figure how to use my phone instead of a digital recorder..

Does you phone actually have a line-in jack to plug in the adaptor?
Most phones just have a line-out jack for the headphones.

I see what you're saying here but don't the headphones that are bundled with the phone have a built in mic that takes the signal in from the 3.5mm jack
