Using LG Watch Sport with T-Mobile

evelbug i'm all over that... although i'm a little confused on if they give you a new number for the watch. if so can i transfer calls to my watch from my cell... having two numbers is really not needed....
All devices on a network are assigned a unique identifying number commonly called, a phone number. Wearable plans for watches like these, include talk, text, and data. If you do not want to "use" a second number with the watch, sign up for T-Mobile's Digits service. It allows for sharing one number (ie. your cellphone number) across multiple devices.

All fine and dandy but I did just that and when I put the sim in the watch I got a text saying it was not an authorized device for the sim. 😒🔫

Did you sign up for a voice or wearable line? You'll get unauthorized with a wearable plan. I signed up for the free voice line promo that started today and that is working in my watch now. When I signed up, I told them I had an old phone I was going to use it with and got a sim card for it.

This was last week. Signed up for a wearable plan.

Evel, did you sign up for tmo digits?

Select tmobile android phone... When you get asked if its a s5, s6 etc... Select no... Then submit.

DaDoc04, when you signed up for DIGITS beta, you chose Android phone instead of smartwatch? Your LG sport is working fine with DIGITS?

Also, how does one install DIGITS on their LG Sport? is it directly available with Android Wear 2.0's embdded Play Store, or did you need to use your phone?

Thanks!

Yes! I selected android phone... You don't have to install anything app related.... You put the sim in and power on the device... Working perfect

With digits the second number is routed from the primary in this case. The app itself is more of a settings type of deal where you can make adjustments to notifications and ****. It doesn't have to be on the watch.

Did you have to change any settings on the watch with the digits sim?

Nope... Literally put the sim in and powered on the device. Just make sure lte/cellular is turned on. Nothing more

I just did this too. The watch can pretty much function as a normal phone. It can make calls and browse the web (needs another app installed), and text and everything.

If ur beta line is set up as a second voice line. It will work fine. Put the sim in the tray and restart the phone. Boom works fine.

But if ur beta line is set up as a wearable it most likely isn't going to work.

It will NOT work if it can connect to your phone. It's saves battery using low energy Bluetooth if it can. As soon as ur phone is out of range or off. It will try for wifi and/or LTE.

This should be adjustable in settings. By default it's probably set to auto, but there should be an option to make LTE always on.

Doing this will result in greater battery drain, but may be necessary if you want calls and messages to be forwarded independently to both devices.

Does anyone know if Digits and tmobs use wifi calling and texting on the watch? In my gym there is no cell signal but great wifi. Verizon messages+ works fine for wifi calling and texting.

Did you have any luck getting the Lg Sport to work on tmobile?

I have found unlock versions of LGSport for $600+ but at AT&T it is under $ 300.00. Where did you find a LG sport unlocked for reasonable price?

Thank you for any Help.

David

I was able to get it to work using a voice line. (tmobile is currently running an add a free line promotion) It will not work on a wearable line. It will not recognize the sport as an authorized device. Other people have signed up for digits beta with success. I have not received my digits sim yet, so I cannot confirm that. There is currently no charge for digits while it is in beta.

I got my watch from the Google store when it first came out. It is $349 there, but currently back ordered.

Hello...
How is this working? Is DIGITS working well? With DIGITS does TMO send me a new SIM for my device that I want to link to my main line or is it done by the number? I just got signed up for the Beta last night and am waiting instruction. Thanks

Its working great! They send you a separate 3 in 1 sim. You just pop it out and put it in the watch.

Thanks. How do I get the SIM though. I was told that they only issue the clone SIM for the wearables and the LG Sport has to be signed up as a voice line therefore I was told to download the app on the "device". Do I just tell them what I'm doing and they will send me a clone SIM no questions asked?
