Using Nexuus 5X in Europe

I would like to know if I can use my Nexus 5X in Europe. I read some articles about this but not so good info. Some say if I change the SIM card and others the opposite. I will be Going to Portugal, Spain, France and Italy. Thanks

As Long its the GSM version you have, then there will be no problems.

I used a 5X in Italy (Tuscany) and had great coverage using a Vodaphone sim. The sim cost me 25 Euro and I got a bunch of minutes and 4 GB of data. Can't help you with the other countries.

+1 for Vodafone. You can check it first, but I think they have some cheap prepaid plans that include free roaming in most European countries.

I had no problems using it for text and talk when I was in Portugal a couple years ago. Was on T-Mobile at the time. Data was a bit unreliable for anything data intensive, but email worked well.

OP, don't know if you're interested or what your needs are, but I use google fi when traveling to Europe. I only ever use the data (mostly for navigation/bus travel, etc), but for $30. or less, it's been an easy solution for multi-country travels. If there should be others traveling with you, Fi offers free data-only sims for other GSM phones. Both work off the one account.
