Re: **now with pics/proof** root,bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

So I was able to unlock the bootloader, but for some reason I can't flash a recovery? When I click on recovery in hboot it goes to the htc warning page then immediately to a black screen. I have to power the phone back on from there. Anybody know what's going on?

What do you mean from recovery? Did you use the toolkit first?

Yeah I used the toolkit. Even when I click on on TRWP 2.5.0.0 in the bootloader nothing pops up. No cmd or anything. I'm able to use the toolkit to get the phone from android straight to bootloader, but after that the recovery won't flash. Like even when I'm trying to wipe the cache on it, the first cmd says "error: device not found", then the cmd says its erasing the cache and its done. Do you think the correct drivers for the bootloader aren't installed correctly on my comp? I have lots of experience rooting and flashing. I'm doing this for my moms phone.

I would install the drivers and try flashing it again.

Don't worry I will. I'm in the middle of re-installing the drivers. I was on Windows 7 first, but then I booted into Windows 8 now and I'll see if that helps.

Not sure if it will make a difference but I have another method you can try if it continues to not work.

It didn't work. I uninstalled the drivers through the toolkit, restarted, then reinstalled them and i still can't flash through bootloader.

Alright, then I guess you can try a manual flash. This will require three things. An unlocked bootloader, android sdk which you can download directly from this post through the download section as you wish, Just click 32 bit or 64 bit, and that you have an htc one xl/att version. Now go here:http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/99 and download the img of 2.5 or even 2.6 if you want. Now once downloaded, drag it to your desktop Then open up cmd. On your phone, go into bootloader mode and select fastboot. Connect your phone to your pc and on your phone it should turn into fastboot usb. Now back to the sdk. Put the downloaded sdk into your c drive or a place where you can easily find it. Unzip it and then in that same folder, find the platform tools folder. Once you are in, you need to change the directory in cmd to point to the platform tools folder. You can do this by typing " cd [location of platform tools folder]" once done, put the recovery img in the platform tools folder. Then type "fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img" where recovery name is just the name of the twrp you chose. Let it finish and you should have recovery. Let me know if this works.

I tried something similar before I posted, but I'll try it again. I'll get back to you tomorrow probabably in the evening after my mom gets back from work. I'm tired now haha. Thanks for everything so far though!!

And is this really necessary for your mom's phone? Does she really need a rooted phone?

Lol she doesn't really need it, but I like to keep my fam with the latest tech. Besides the original os is actually really slow on it. Also, is it necessary to install the Android 1.0 driver? When I load into bootloader my computer wants to install that driver.

Re: **OMG NOW WITH VIDEO!** root, bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

So everything worked I got root. However, I want to flash a JellyBean rom, but I need hboot 1.39. I tried to flash it but I keep getting signature verification failed at the end. Do you guys know what's going on here?

MY CID is HTC_001

So why does it say relocked? And why are you using Cmd if you installed a recovery. Your CID should be 11111111. This means you bootloader is not unlocked

Do you have the recovery installed? Can you access it at all?
