Hmm, that's weird. Could be something wrong with how the kernel is clocking the cpu causing it to be hot. It could also be a faulty battery. It was all of a sudden so I don't know how that could be it. Oh well. I guess you can stay stock and see how it goes.

Well, after I flashed the newest RUU, it was in bootloop. Then I went into bootloader and selected power down, and let it set for about 5 minutes. Now I'm one it. Went thru the set up and still running....so far...I have no idea what's happened.

Which newest RUU. The 4.2.2 one? or the 4.1.1?

i believe it was the 4.2.2, it went to sense 5, and hboot went to 2.15.

I tried to play a game, Smash hit, and it instanly froze and shut and I can not even get it to turn on. I did get it in bootloader once but after that dead..

Dang, well, does it turn on at all? I wonder what's happening with your phone. You don't have access to bootloader or recovery anymore? How about holding the power button for a long time? Does that work? Do the home buttons flash?

Also, there's no CID exploit to unlock the bootloader for that update so you're lucky in a way about that.

So far, i have not got it to turn on. I hope its not dead.....I guess if it is, I will be looking for a used one.

I think that's referring to hboot. You can upgrade but you can't downgrade.

Sent from my One Xl using AC Forums mobile app

It booted up actually. But it still just freezes and reboots. I got it in bootloader and I'm putting the RUU back on. The 4.2.2.

Yeah, I would see if that works. It might have been that things got mixed up when you flashed two different RUUs.

I'm thinking of buying another X, with a cracked screen and swap the motherboard over to mine.. that would work?

If you're willing to put the effort I guess you can. Of course, there is a high probability that it won't work. Maybe it's time to move on...

Well I have been doing some research, and motherboards can be replaced. But they cost 130.00....nah I don't think so.

I did figure out what happened. The factory USB cable that came with the phone is bad. The reason I know this, is I plugged it into this VX, and guess what, bootloop. But I was able to get it into bootloader, and do a factory reset, and got it to work again. Dang cable.
So if I can find a one x with a busted screen, And still works, I can fix mine. I've been shopping....lol no luck yet.

I have a question, I fixed my HTC one x. I put another motherboard in it. So I need to update it. But it says there's no updates or I get the dreaded htcdm has stopped working. What to do??
Phone is bone stock and not rooted.
