Re: **OMG NOW WITH VIDEO!** root, bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

Okay, trying to unlock the bootloader and I get stuck when the device reboots into fastboot. Windows says the device was not recognized as it malfunctioned or something. I have the drivers installed so I don't know why this is happening. Please help =!

You need to be more specific on what exactly step you are on. Just saying "stuck when devices boots to fastboot" is unhelpful. If you could tell me, I would love to help!

Re: **OMG NOW WITH VIDEO!** root, bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

Sorry, I downloaded the toolkit and installed the HTC drivers (first step in unlocking the bootloader). Then I ran the MotochopperX and it runs several commands and comes to a point where your phone restarts and boots into fastboot. I'm unable to proceed beyond this. Windows throws up an error saying that the device was not recognized and it malfunctioned or something like that. I have installed the HTC drivers as I mentioned in the first step. What am I doing wrong ?

it is suppose to boot into fastboot and then tell you your CID. It issues a command called "adb reboot bootloader" and that is what takes you into fastboot. Does the cmd prompt say anything after that?

No, but you do need to flash a recovery, which needs an unlocked a bootloader. So you need to do three things.

unlock the bootloader

Flash a recovery

Then you can root

Wizzrah, I had not installed the drivers properly. And hence I couldn't get past that. Now I'm unlocked, have installed a recovery and rooted. I'm sort of stuck in the S-OFF stage. I keep getting the error 'FAILED (remote: 99 unknown fail)' when I try to flash PJ8312000-OneX.zip instead of 'FAILED (remote: 92 supercid! please flush image again immediately)'. What do I do ?

Keep trying. I know that sounds useless but keep trying. Also you can try rebooting your computer.

Solved it! Apparently, when you get the 99 unknown fail you need to wipe the cache and Dalvik cache and retry the whole S-OFF procedure again. That should solve the issues. Hope this helps anyone who may get stuck here. Thanks again wizzrah! I'm unlocked, rooted, S-OFFed and ready to delve into the world of HTC ONE X custom ROMS. You are awesome!

Try ViperXL + Beastmode 3.5 kernel. Very good combo. Come back if you have anymore questions!

I dont quite understand what you are trying to ask. ViperXL is a Sense 5 Rom based on 4.2.2. It's crazy stable and waaaaay better then the AT&T rom. However, if you are looking for a stock android experience, I would suggest Cyanogenmod 10.2

Re: **now with pics/proof** root,bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

Hello been using this thread to get my Att Htc One X rooted. I've gotten all the way through rooting and recovery. Just can't complete the S-Off portion. I get this error everytime I try to complete it.

'C:\Users\Desktop\One_X_ATT_All-In-One_Kit_v3.0\data\soff.bat' is not
recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can see the finish line.

Do not use the toolkit, use the guide I specified in this forum.

Never seen that before, I would suggest to keep trying. Or re-download the toolkit. After trying these two things and motochopper still does not work, I have something else for you.
