Re: AT&T One X Root, Boot unlock, S-off on the Jellybean 3.18 OTA Update

where at? cuz i cant find them?

Instructions are as follows
Follow steps.
Use steps 1 through 4
In that specific order.
The toolkit does the work for you.
Just folllow command prompts on your computer screen.
Adb knowledge is mandatory for using this in- case errors occur.
This toolkit works and it is very easy as long as you follow directions. If difficulty arises search the thread before asking. Chances are your question has already been recognized.
Wizzrah has helped so many people with this. Please afford him the courtesy of searching THIS thread before asking questions that have already been answered.
Once again this is as easy as it gets. It can be frustrating. But it does work.

I am trying to help the users of this community achieve this task. I do not condone disrespectful comments in any way. I do not appreciate private messages telling me to mind my own business. This is a public forum and I am sure the moderator can agree when I say that every comment should benefit the next. So if answers are what you seek. I will not help you individually. I can not speak for others. That was rude and UN called for.
Here is the evidence

This is interesting. I appreciate anyone who chips in as that's how things get done. This is a public forum like you said and you are entitled to your rights to speak. Now, I can simply refuse a person to help, but I think that would affect my chances of becoming a moderator :( I'm doing this out of pure will and anyone who helps out deserves a thumbs up if you ask me. I don't really know why he got mad as you basically said what I was going to tell him.

I had a great deal of difficulty with just achieving s-off. My insight has intrigued others. Maybe not all but a few. I really appreciate the acceptance of my opinion. And I will continue to guide and help if I can. I am not a noob nor am I a developer. But if someone can benefit from my experience then so be it. All credit goes to you wizzrah.
Thank you

I'm updating the code in the toolkit and also am adding a new look. I'm trying to make the instructions as clear as possible as well. I'm also putting out an HTC One S,One V toolkit, and looking into a toolkit for the HTC First.

Re: AT&T One X Root, Boot unlock, S-off on the Jellybean 3.18 OTA Update

Finally got S-Off to work. Every other step was fine, but the S-Off would not work. After corrupting my driver on one PC (still gotta fix that), doing it through the toolkit, doing it manually, flashing supersu a dozen times, and finally I got error 92 instead of error 99.

By the way, on my other PC, the driver must be glitched because the PC will only load the phone once, and you need to shutdown to get it to load again. So after getting error 92, it would be unable to add soffbin3 and run it.

Anyways, I got it to work (after 10 hours of trying). If anyone else is having error 99 issues I suggest doing random stuff until it works.

Thanks wizzrah :)

Yep, S-OFF seems to be the killer for most people. I never really had trouble, but I'm glad you got it working. When you said, I tried it manually, hopefully you didn't download android SDK because it's a huge file...

I'm looking into splitting s off into 3 steps as well.

Re: **now with pics/proof** root,bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

Thanks for making this the number one option for rooting the AT&T One X! Typing "AT&T One X Root" in google results in this being the first link! Again, Thanks everyone!

Re: **now with pics/proof** root,bootloader unlock,s-off at&t htc one x on 3.18 update!

This was by far the longest phone i ever tried to root and be able to flash... Wizzrah your toolkit is awesome!! The S-off was the hardest task, but i broke down and just did it with all manual commands and finally got it. One thing to help is in your toolkits instructions is to make sure that error "92" pops up and not error "99" i spent several hours just figuring that out. so far ive had over thirty hours of research and trial and errors. lots of close calls with what i expected to end in a bricked phone. The sad part is that all i wanted was to not have any AT&T crap on my phone!! now i have wayyy to many roms to choose from. going with the viperXL first, might try the beanstalk 4.40 later. Great forum im glad theres stuff like this on the web and people like Wizzrah to help us noobs

No, I used your adb.exe through the command prompt. Although, I already have the SDK because I am a Android app developer, but it was just easier to use the adb.exe

Yeah that's what I was going to say. Just aim the directory in cmd to my toolkit folder.

You gave me an idea. I'll split the toolkit between automatic and manual.

Re: AT&T One X Root, Boot unlock, S-off on the Jellybean 3.18 OTA Update

Splitting it I would think would help. I don't know if it was the same for everyone else but when the onex.zip was pushed and the soft3bin commands were typed in my phone imeaditly asked for super user permission. Once I noticed my phone was asking me that I clicked on allow and that was it..I achieved s-off. I repushed that onex.zip at least thirty times... But it only took one time doing it the right way to achieve success

It is suppose to ask you for superuser permission and you are suppose to grant it.
