Wizzrah, I have a question, I hate to ask in the HTC section, but no one will answer in the Samsung forum. Im working on a galaxy 2, it needs the unlock code to use for other carriers...T mobile is really dragging their feet on giving my one. So my question, if I root it and flash a recovery and a Rom on it, will it unlock it? Thanks!!!

I am not an expert in this area, but usually you want to get an unlock code from your carrier.

I been rom jumping lately and today after being on kickdroid for a few weeks my phone just started rebooting..nonstop! I got my phone to boot into bootloader and I think I screwed up big time. I did a advanced wipe, and now my phone is done. when it powers on it just sits on the main HTC screen with the developmental warning script and never does anything. I got your toolkit to reinstall recovery but I can not get a rom to flash. it just says "unable to mount \sdcard" Is this the definition of "Bricked"?? cause that's all my phone is at the moment

Sounds like it. Can your PC find it when you connect it?

no... my htc sync manager pops up when im in bootloader and I turn fastboot on but I cant transfer files. my windows explorer cant detect it. I have to boot into recovery, and then use the toolkit to push files onto my phone

ive reinstalled recovery three times but no matter what it wont install anything. everytime I get the same things in script.."E: Unable to mount `/sdcard`

Try enabling ADB Sideload.

recovery makes sure to tell me theres no O.S. every time I leave it but it wont let me install one!

Hey Ned Kaiser.....WHAT Makes you think you did something wrong..Maybe It was just your Luck that, that was the Life of your Phone...

Maybe not a Software Problem, But a Hardware Problem...

Nope, he did an advanced wipe, which is something you don't usually do.

Wizzrah, my daughter's phone is a one VX, I rooted it, with twrp 2.4.1.0 recovery. I have a boot img and a Rom download, but the S-On.
In what order do I install a Rom, and boot img.
And just to make sure, I will flash the boot.img in the recovery also.

yes I have windows 8.1 but not a 3.0 usb from what I googled I have to redo the ruu. I downloaded the new att 5.18 ruu last night but it wont run on my computer. that's the current hurdle im at. I don't think I bricked my phone, but I most defiantly will never do a advanced wipe again! basically my phone is completely empty except for boot loader and recovery

I think running an RUU with supercid will brick your phone. Although a guy I know P.M'd me saying that it worked fine and he had SuperCID. Let me check back with him.

When I rooted her phone, i used you kit. Could I use it to flash the boot img?
Then after the boot img I can put a clean rom on it?

Yes.

Make a backup.

Wipe.

Flash the rom.

Boot into fastboot.

Use my new toolkit, and select ADB/Fastboot commands.

Select flash boot image.

Find boot.img (Should be inside the rom folder on your pc)

Click ok or open.

Let the toolkit flash it.

Then you can reboot.

The phone should boot.
