Hi all,

My V10 proximity sensor was scratched badly (god knows how) and it's been really making my life difficult- shutting of the screen when I start a phone call/dimming my screen on inappropriate times ( :P ).

I have my prior LG G2 at hand and I wanted to know if the sensors are the same so I can dissemble it from the G2 and put it in my V10?

Thanks for the answers!

I'm not sure that the technology in proximity sensors has changed that much over the last few years but it would be hard to say if they are exactly the same.

Might have to read some tear down articles to know for sure.

Proximity sensors rarely change in terms of tech. Comparing the V10's to that of the G2's won't show much though the G2's is more protected from being wonky as the glass panel extends to the top bezel and thus, keeps the sensor underneath while the V10 uses the soft touch plastic panels for the top and bottom and as such, the proximity and ambient light sensor are protected by the same easily scratchable plastic used on the LED flash and laser autofocus window.

As far as I know, the only way to fix it is to probably use a plastic polish kit similar to what's used on car headlights or find a wholesale component seller who sells the plastic top and bottom pieces of the V10.

Posted on an LG V10

Thanks a lot guys, I guess I'll have to buy a new one since I cannot find anything of the sort.
