V30 camera reviews?

Went to Best Buy yesterday, but they didn't have any V30's even on display. Didn't make it to the AT&T store to see if they had any. I did get to play with some of Samsung's phones, and must say the camera's were quite nice. Miles ahead of my G5. I don't know if I could get used to those curved screens though, but it is a beautiful phone. I

I have the v30. T-Mobile. If I can figure out how I will attach low light pictures taken last night.

just for comparison notes for those wondering...I'm on Verizon in the US, got the 8.0 update, but no camera changes yet. I believe the AI is either coming with 8.1 or a separate update down the road. I don't recall any US Verizon customers who have it yet.

I got to play around with a family members S8+ last night, and really wasn't all that impressed with that camera. Had to get some pics off of my Moms Iphone 7, and those were really great pics, except the low lights didn't seem that great. The more video reviews I watch of these damn phones, the more confused I get. A lot of people over on the S9 forum are complaining of blurry shots, and there are some examples posted that don't look that great. I thought that was the end all be all camera. Some folks on this forum seem to really ***** about the V30's camera, but I think a lot of the pics posted on here look pretty good, and it seems to hold its own against other phones in some of the video reviews.
I know I'm not buying a DSLR camera, but just want something somewhat consistent.

Got to check out a v30 finally. I thought the phone was gorgeous, and the camera seemed pretty damn good to me. I snapped some shots with it and an s8, and really thought the V30 s look a little better, or at least very comparable to the s8.

On another note, the store didn't even have any v30's in stock. I felt like I was in a Samsung store. Apple section was in the back. They had a few LG lower end phones on display, the G6 wasn't even working. The V30 display was set on 60% while all of the samsungs were on 100%. I'm beginning to think it's a Samsung conspiracy.. Lol.

Thanks for the video. I thought both cameras did a good job.
One issue I always have with some of these reviews is that 95‰ of the pictures I take are of people and pets. Couldn't tell ya the last time I took a shot of a plant, necklace, window, etc. Go to a restaurant or bar and take some people shots, and some outdoor people shots. Take a shot of a dog or cat. Skin tones are important to me not the shade of a flower.

V30 really is a nice phone and the battery is just rediculous. Best battery I've ever had in a phone.

Pulled the trigger today and grabbed a v30. At&t was doing a $300 trade in allowance for it. Took a few pics and liked them a lot. This is a gorgeous phone. Liking it so far, but only had it for a few hours, so I'm sure I'll have a few questions.

Thanks for all of the help on here. I really appreciate everyone's input.

Check back in a few days and let us know what you think about the battery life.

I'll let ya know in a few days. It upgraded to oreo already. So far I love the camera, and battery life is double my G5. The screen is gorgeous. I can't get over how bright and Colorful everything is.
The camera handles background light so much better than the G5. Subjects come out crisp and clear, instead of washed out looking. So far, I have no complaints, and am loving the V30..

Cool to see you're looking the phone. I've had mine since just after launch and I couldn't be happier.

Ye its a great phone. There's huge things and little things that make me love it. After finally getting used to it, since getting it in January and getting the haptic feedback working its really kicking butt now. Just a beast device.

Sorry I'm late to the game, but I'm I'm a similar situation... People pics are numero uno on my last of must haves... I want faces that look like faces, no beauty modes or airbrush-looking skin tones.

And as good as the V30 was with fairly static images like trees, fountains, buildings, etc... The pics of my kids I took, in particular at night or indoors... The quality was horrid. Everything was so heavily processed that they were mostly unusable. Same goes for my cat... He looked like he was covered with foam, not fur.

I so wanted it to be otherwise... It was a great phone otherwise and I had got a good deal on it. I was hoping I could have it be the replacement for my wife's 6P. But there was no way I was going to give her a phone that butchered our kids pics the way it did.

I can't believe the battery life of this phone. It is amazing. I watched a couple of hours of video today, and spent another hour or so reading emails, google feed etc.., and a 45 minute phone call, and I was still above 50 percent!!! Sitting here now at the end of the day, I am still at 38 percent. This thing sips power.

Did you get the Oreo update for it. I just got the phone last week, and it updated to oreo the day after, so I really can't compare to the old software, but so far I am really liking the camera.

I'm 6 months in on this phone and I still say the same thing lol absolute love how it handled battery life.

Nope... I had it back in October, shortly after launch. I gave it a three week audition before returning it at the end of the remorse period.

I'd be curious myself... My issues aren't so much the software, it was who was writing the software. LG has always made some really odd choices when it comes to how they handle people... Everywhere else they dial up sharpening to 11, but a face? Looks like they got drunk and hit the smear tool a bit too hard.
