Vanilla Android 2.3.2 (from Peter Alfonso)

After I hung up, about 5 min later I tried to use google talk and it said I have no data connection. That is when I notice that my 3G symbol was gone. I had to go to turn on airplane mode then turn it off to get my 3G symbol back and my data. I know you can't have data during a call but this is well after the call had ended. Also I am still having screen redraws with the kernel you mention.

If you go to his site again, he has GPA11, (which fixed all the random issues I was unhappy with) and GPA12, (some random tweaks and fixes) up for DL. My OGD is running better and longer than ever. And he also said these will probably be his last Vanilla builds, so he can start the BB gingerbread builds!! And he has a recommended (and needed) Kernal, as well as one he made that help performance issues greatly

Whoot to Pete!!

Easiest way there is. (Must already be rooted...)

#1. Download Rom manager, (Paid or free. I would go with the paid version, its absolutely worth the $3. But the free one is fine also) Make sure to open the app once to make sure its all in order and that whatever license/warnings have been agreed to.

#2. Go to here (Pete's site) on your phones browser and download GPA12 from the link he provides.

#3. When download is complete, pull down your task bar and tap said notification. When you do this, it will ask if you want to use Rom manager, click yes. (Don't forget to make a BACKUP!!!, and wipe)

#4. After it installs, (remember the first boot after a new install will be a little longer than normal, be patient.) Go back to his site and install one of the recommended kernels (use the same install method as above, minus the backup and wipe)

#5. Enjoy your Gingerbread goodness. Just remember, its just Vanilla, no real frills, just a newer and better, (in most cases) version of Andriod than most of your friends will have for a while still.

(If you skip looking at the notification, and just go into Rom manager, go to "install rom from SD card" and find "GPA12DEODEXED.zip" in your "download/" folder and select that, will do the same thing as step #3.)

You need the premium version of ROM Manager to do it this way...I don't think the WebConnect feature works with the free version

Ah, I guess its been awhile since I had just the free version... So again, I recommend spending the $3 and making rom installs/changes super easy!!

It must of been awhile cuz I paid $3.99 through paypal recently and through the market its $4.99 lol damn devs for upping prices haha still totally worth the cash though!!!

I put the ROM on my SD card, did a restore factory and wipe cache. Now I'm a little stuck. When I tell it to update from SD card, it tells me it failed signature verification and then stops. I was rooted. What did I do wrong?

Need a little help here. No matter what i do i get "Signature verification failed" " installation aboarted"

Phone is wiped
cache is wiped
zip file is named "update"

Any ideas?

Are you using ClockworkMod Recovery or SPRecovery? I recommend using Clockwork, as you don't need to rename to "update.zip." Instead, you can just choose the zip from a specific location on the SD Card and install it.

Yeah, it would help to know what recovery your on simply because there are different steps on each recovery...their not all the same!

Does anyone have the download link to the Alfonso Overclock Kernel for this Rom?

I found this page on his web site however the link is not there

Thanks
