Verifying legit galaxy s8

Ok, so ive already tried buying a used galaxy s8 once and i failed in spectacular fashion by buying a fake. Im really really gun shy about trying to buy used phones any more, but trying none the less. Looking at what looks like an unlocked verizon s8. The model number is a SMG950uzvv, the only issue is i cant find a correlation between the model numbers. I looked at a list of the different ones and that wasnt on it. How can i tell if its legit? Trying to do my homework of things to check on the software portion, since last time the phone looked 100% on the outside.

I would never buy a used phone. Ever. You don't know what they installed on it, if they didn't sign out correctly, you will get locked out, malware, adware, cheap Chinese knockoff devices loaded with spyware... The reasons are many...
