Verizon 3G Network Retirement

That's great. I only get 3G signal at home. When will I get LTE signal, so I will be able to use my phone.

Same here, and I'm in a good sized city. On top of that, Wi-Fi calling doesn't default to Wi-Fi on my V20. It'll only make use of Wi-Fi if there's zero Verizon signal, including 1x.

If you only get 3G at your house and they drop CDMA then you would have no signal therefore WiFi calling would work :D.

If you don't live in a populated area -- maybe never? Might have to shop around.

So I'll be forced to buy a new phone with wifi calling and I'll be paying for cell service that I won't have at my rural residence.

Verizon was talking about ending CDMA support by 2020 and relying solely on the LTE signal for data and voice back in 2014 or so when HD calling was released.

I worked for them at the time and was shocked they would make anyone using older hardware to upgrade. Older smartphones like the Samsung Note 3 for example won't work anymore.

Yeah you'll have to find someone else that works or get a phone with wifi calling.
