Verizon acting weird

I went into the verizon store the other day to see if they had the galaxy nexus but when I asked, both the employees started to act really weird. As soon as the words "galaxy nexus" left my mouth one of the employees tells me, "don't get it". He then started to push the droid razr onto me saying how amazing it was and how bad the nexus is. why were they acting like this?

Not sure where all the Nexus hate is coming from. I love my Nexus, my wife loves her RAZR. My point, there's a reason they have the live displays at the Verizon store. If I couldn't get the Nexus and needed a phone immediately, I'd probably get a Rezound.

So if it is an authorized retailer they are pushed to sell certain phones because they do make more with certain 9nes for example the iPhone makes them nothing, as for corporate stores I work in one and we are never asked to push one phone over the other but there are biased reps, take my store I would push the nexus or the resound, but other reps would push the iPhone but none of them would effect our commission.

I purchased the Galaxy Nexus and at this point in time it is a joke! You guys with your "brand loyalty" always coming on here attacking people, calling them trolls just for speaking their honest opinion. Not only can you not handle honest criticism, hell you don't even want ANYONE saying anything negative about your damn PHONES! Talk about vain. This happens over and over again. Well, I'm not going to bash the Nexus because I remember when I bought the Thunderbolt on its release date and that phone sucked ass at that time, I was ready to return it. But after a few updates, rooting it, and applying a custom rom on it, it became the best phone I ever owned. I still love my Thiunderbolt and this Nexus is making me miss it. That is exactly what I am basing my current critique on, after purchasing the Nexus I should not be considering going back to my Thunderbolt. Now I firmly believe that the Nexus will end up being an excellent device so I plan to give it time. However until that happens I won't be lying to myself and pretending that this is the cats meow. One last thing, because of the LTE chips that they are currently using and Samsung's hardware I do not believe that they will be able to fix the battery issue with the Nexus and LTE. Everything else that a software update will fix, yes, but not the LTE drain issue.

I called someone a troll on the first page and it's not because I can't handle honest criticism or any negativity toward this phone. I even admitted the phone was buggy and the browser is really annoying me right now.

I called someone a troll on the first page for calling this phone a piece of crap, but he admitted he was being too harsh so all is good. Yeah this phone has some bugs right now. I'm not denying that. But I have no brand loyalty. I buy what I think is best for me.

Wow, people crack me up. Every thread or news article about another phone that was posted just prior to the Nexus' release was swamped with "who cares it's not a Nexus" trolls. Now people point out it's flaws in the threads and the Nexus fanboys get all defensive and yell at people for trolling. Hello pot, meet kettle.

Is the RAZR forum really so boring that those owners have to come here for some reason? Seriously. Why? I have no desire to be in a RAZR forum, so I don't bother going to any of them.

I read all the threads posted regardless of what device I have. I do have the freedom to buy another device at any point, so I read all threads about all devices. And again, you prove my point. All the Nexus fans were flooding ALL other threads, and now are getting defensive when somebody points out faults with your device. I'm not pointing out anybody in particular, but was making a statement in general about how the Nexus camp found it necessary to spam other threads, but cant take the same treatment.

Seems like ALL the LTE phones have these problems...in one way or another. I have the Nexus S 4G for work. I have almost the exact same connection issues as I'm hearing described. I know the technologies are different, but a hand off still needs to be negotiated.

The problem with WiMax is that Sprint doesn't operate it. Clearwire does. There isn't even a chance for a handoff between 4G and 3G when you're entering/leaving a 4G covered area.

I have 1 or 2 bars in my house and I thought I would drop calls but I havn't dropped one call yet. Im starting to wonder if the bars are nothing more than a display issue. Other than that, I love the nexus. google wallet works fine unrooted, ICS is smooth and clean. No complaints on the nexus.

Relax.

When I went in to pick up my galaxy nexus, I first checked out the HTC rhyme (for my wife) and the razr just because the were on the way to the nexus. When the associate and I got the the nexus, the first thing she said was "are you a techy person? if you aren't extremely tech savvy don't get this phone"

I thought it was pretty weird since the only difference from an OS perspective is ICS and most newer phones will have it eventually... and I think it's more intuitive to use than gingerbread

Let's be real here people.. jumping from gingerbread to ICS has a pretty decent sized learning curve. Pure ICS is not for everyone, that's for sure. I'm sure once manufacturers skin this OS, it'll be fine for the average person.

Well, I think anyone that has used an android phone in the past will have no problem with ICS.. and the rep knew I had the thunderbolt. I honestly think the "basic" features of a phone are much easier to access (by basic I mean the things I think people use their phones for the most... calling, texting, email, and facebook)

To be completely honest, right now I'd rather this phone not be in the hands of the average person. It's technically a developer phone, it has issue's and it's going to continue to be picked apart by people that use it. The average person is going to run into some of the problems that it has and think it and android is the biggest POS out there and immediately exchange for an iPhone. After all that's done run to all their friends and bad mouth the OS.. we don't need that.

I do agree though, the "basic" features seem to be more streamlined. I guess I was thinking too deeply into "learning" ICS when I typed that.

I love my Nexus. The battery could last longer, but no problems with signal. When I went to my verizon store, they said they didn't think they even had it. Then I found one on the wall in the corner. When I said I have been wanting one, they tried to change my mind saying I would love the RAZR - and i let them know that I didn't want motorola crap. They didn't want me to spend my own money buying what I wanted to in their store, so I left. My husband was in another city the next day and picked one up for me.

That's only because it's quite a bit different from GB. It isn't difficult to use. It's just different and takes a little time to adjust.

This is true. I've said it before and I'll say it again... I think a first time Android user is the perfect person to jump in with ICS.
