Verizon annual upgrade program?

My problem with the upgrade program is this: How can Samsung make a better phone next year than the S7 Edge? Just about perfect for me!!!

Keep in mind that you would have to pay off half the phone to upgrade... AND return the old phone. It is almost a leasing program.

Well if they do like the deal now, and offer you $300 for a Galaxy, then it's a fine deal. Figure the S7 Edge costs $790. Pay off 50%, that's $395. Then if you can get $300 for turning in your old Galaxy S7 Edge, then that's only $95 to use a phone for a year.

Why would they give you $300 for turning in your phone??? I thought you have to turn your phone into them, but they don't pay you for it, they just give you the next model and your payments start again for 24 months.....
Am I missing something?

That is what I thought also.

The deal might be OK. They are basically buying back your phone for 50%. I think that is more than you can sell it for, but who knows right now. However they are not guaranteeing that the monthly payments won't go up. Also who knows how long this promotion will last. Like everything else they could cancel it at any time. I would be surprised if 5 year from now people are still getting their annual Samsung phone under the same terms.

Don't they give you a credit for the phone you turn in? If you had a S6 they said it you got a S7 on device payment plans you would get $300 for a Galaxy

They don't give u crap for the phone except for how much u owe on it when u turn it in of its less than 50% of original price.

Uh, no. The annual upgrade requires 50% payment on current device AND trading in current device.

"The Verizon Annual Upgrade Program means you can turn in your phone and upgrade to any new smartphone every year.*You can upgrade 30 days after activating a new phone when more than 50% of the device price has been paid. *"
