Verizon Caller Name ID - What gives?

What good is Verizon Caller Name ID when I can see the callers name and number without this $2.99 a month service.

Well are these contacts that are calling where it shows the name?

I think it is to extend beyond your contact list. So if I were to call you, not being in your phone book, they have a lookup service that shows you my name. Not 100 sure as I haven't looked into it too much but that's my guess. It's pointless if you ask me. Most people I know won't answer unknown calls anyway. You mail does a similar service for free.

I'm seeing this new "Potential scam" popping up on my phone with unknown callers now.

Does anyone subscribe to the Verizon Caller Name ID and is it worth $2.99 a month?

I personally would say no. I don't answer unknown numbers since I figure if it is important they can leave me a voicemail.

not worth it IMHO, and for the unknown callers , just block their numbers.
