Verizon "certified" my arse

Caller Name ID probably won't work. It's not a core telephony feature.

Visual Voice Mail - do you have regular voice mail set up on that line?

WiFi Calling should work. Is there an Advanced Calling section in the Settings under Wireless & Networks?

Caller Name ID is great. Would be a shame not to have it.

Yes I have voicemail on the line. In the end, visual voicemail is not a deal breaker. Gotten used to it and it feels like a step backwards.

No advanced calling settings.

To make matters worse, I'm not getting texts for the last 5 hours. At Verizon now, they are going to start with a new SIM.

Set up Google voice and use conditional forwarding to use it's Visual Voicemail. It's free, and it works. I did on my Sprint U11. I don't using it for calling or text, just Visual Voicemail.

Several hours later...

Verizon says that Wifi Calling is enabled, Visual Voicemail is enabled, Caller Name ID is enabled, but no luck on the phone. Network resets, hard reset, disable/enable features....nothing

On to chat with HTC. Lots of talking in circles... end result is that WiFi calling on Verizon is NOT supported. Only Voice over LTE will work (even though I explained that it's the same as VoIP, which is what WiFi calling is). Was too frustrated to push the other issues.

I've had every HTC flagship since the original EVO, so disappointed. Giving Sprint the exclusive was a huge mistake.

Or Sprint is the only one that would take the phone.

Just to sum up, since it's spread throughout several threads here. Three days with the HTC U11 on Verizon and despite the claims of the internet and some suits at HTC, here's what's lacking when used with Big Red.

- No WiFi calling;
- No 3G or lower;
- No Verizon Visual Voicemail;
- No HD Voice;
- No Verizon Caller ID;
- Not recognized as a supported device in Verizon account;
- No access to several Verizon apps in the Play Store;

There is VoLTE, however, when attempting to text a photo while on a phone call, it would not work - and a I tried several times. (Please let me know if this differs for others.)

So, maybe I just don't understand what "certified" means, but this is like buying a fully-loaded BMW and having several features unavailable for use. Time to process my return.

Add no XLTE to the list. Over on Xda, there is a thread that band 4 does not work. I can confirm that when I put the SIM in my 10, I get band 4. Back in the 11, stuck on band 13.

Finally figured out why I was not receiving texts for the last 3 days. When they updated the U11 provisioning, they added CDMA-LESS Provisioning which makes sense as there is no CDMA radio. I put my SIM back in my 10 and the texting still wouldn't work, until I called AGAIN and had that provisioning removed. That was blocking the ability to receive texts.

Returning the U11 until Verizon and HTC get their acts together. It's a shame because it's a GREAT phone.

Read somewhere u need to make sure bc voice is turned on on ur Verizon account for that number and it allows u to call after it's on.

I activated my u11 yesterday and I have the same problem...I can text out but I'm not getting return texts. Sorry, I'm not clear on what provisioning is. Is this something I can fix by adjusting a setting on my phone or in my Verizon online account? Do I need to go to the Verizon store and have them assist with this problem?

You need to call Verizon tech support as ask that they remove "CDMA-LESS Provisioning". No guarantee they will remove it nor that it won't come back on it's own.

I had my u 11 activated on Friday on Verizon no problem with HD voice,sms,mms,data,the only problem is the phone stays on band 13 only no band 2,4 HTC says they no about the problem and working on it right now I can say this phone gets better signal than my wifes pixel xl and my HTC 10

So, it seems like HTC is fixing the issue slowly? I'm on Verizon and I want this phone but not with the headaches.

my pictures sent or received via text message are significantly downsized. look like crap.

I'd noticed that too during my short time with the U11. Was very confused. I know it happens with videos by design, but had never had it happen with a regular photo on any other phone.

I want this phone now that they have the orange/red one that i loved, but i have Verizon and if its going to be an issue constantly i wont get it... sucks! i really wanted this phone.

Made the call to Verizon tech support last night as I was still not receiving texts that I knew were sent to me. The first "level 1" person knew nothing and escalated to a "level 2" tech. I told him right away about removing the CDMA-less provisioning but he either wasn't able or didn't want to do that. We did LOTS of trouble shooting and I believe he reset my account and I am now finally able to receive texts. It was frustrating losing an hour of my time for this but I otherwise really like the u11 so I was determined to get it working.

For the first time I didnt buy at release and Im so glad. I have the 10 and the draw was to be off Verizon's teat for updates. Maybe they will get the U11 issues fixed by the time I paid off my 10 and can afford the U11!!!! (Though to be honest Im fatally tempted to become an idrone, it seems so much easier than maneuvering through the various android versions and the grief they bring).
