Verizon Droid 2 Gingerbread update fail

Well Im sure Im not the only one on this, tried to update to Gingerbread but my VZW droid 2 is rooted. I am thinking of the obvious way to unroot it, back up my contacts and all and wipe it, but really dont wanna do that unless theres an easier "temporary unroot" function, like with titanium backup, etc. Any solutions? Thanks for your help...

I tried temporary unroot, I even hard reset the device, no go.
