You're right it's not as though the rumors are coming from untrustworthy sources. I'm always a little hesitant to jump onto any rumor, since it is just that. I really feel like Verizon did get shafted out of a Nexus phone and it would be great for those user to get one. It just feels like everyone is jumping ahead and taking this as fact, and all that will do is be disappointing if the talk isn't true. I just don't want people to be upset if Google rips the carpet out from people's feet. I know know it would suck, but maybe just a little less if everyone remembers that this is just rumors.

I guess what I was trying to say was that Google has pretty much dropped all the dev phones on T-mobile first, going all the way back to the G1.

The original Droid wasn't branded a Nexus, but it seems to have functioned as one, no?

Going to keep my VZW line open with it's available upgrade. If the Prime is "touched" by Verizon crap-ware or locked in any way, then I pass, I pass, because 300Mhz, .08 more screen, or a few more pixels than what I have BEEN using don't mean crap if ICS isn't pure. Come on Verizon, enough with crappy crap. Lets see a Nexus, not Droid.

I'm not saying that the Driod can't function as one, but the official dev phones: Dev1( G1) Dev 2 ( My touch 3g), Nexus One, and Nexus S were all launched on T-Mobile first. That's 4 devices, which in my option constitutes a pattern; your option may differ.

While all this may be true, there seems to be a lot of things pointing to this coming to VZW for some sort of exclusive period. Whether that exclusive period is 2 weeks or a month. I don't think many people know that information.

I understand that you have T-mobile, but I think you need to look hard at all the information that is out there and where the information came from and realize it is probably going to VZW first.

You could actually make the argument that going to VZW would benefit Google the most since they are the largest carrier here in the US.

I never said that Verizon wouldn't get the phone or that it wouldn't get an exclusive all I'm trying to say is a rumor isn't fact. All I wanted to achieve was trying to keep people's heads out of the clouds so there isn't so much disappointment IF it doesn't happen.

The Droid was the first and to my knowledge only phone to run 2.0 but that doesn't mean it was an "official" dev device. I'll freely admit that does make it a test device for 2.0.

You're right, there is no deal. I don't think however that past events should be dismissed. I was a history major in college and what we learned is the what happened in the past can be a really good indicator of what will happen in the future. In this case, either Google will stay with what it knows or they look back and say " well maybe we should have done this.." and launch on a Verizon. Again all I'm saying is nothing is official.

True, but nobody is suggesting that they are not going to have a GSM version. It's mainly a discussion on whether Verizon will get a true Nexus device and whether it will have it as an exclusive before the other carriers get their version.

There will be of a GSM version at launch, of course. We're talking US carriers here. Just because there's a GSM device, doesn't mean AT&T and T-Mobile would get it at launch.
