Verizon gets rid of 20month upgrade

You're the exception, not the rule. If you tried to sign up for Verizon today you would not have the pricing.

You could assume liability of an account similar to mine. If you don't have any friends or relatives willing to give you an account, you can pick one up from eBay. Yes, it does cost a bit, but it will pay off quick if you use your account like I do.

Do you have unlimited data or double the data on your line?

Neither...I just signed up with Verizon again in September after Sprint p!ssed me off. I pay $93.00 a month for 2GB of data (soon to be 1GB as I'm on WiFi all the time) with a 22% discount. Decent coverage, but they sure are proud of their data. Unlimited data wouldn't do anything for me due to the widespread WiFi in my area. I'm only on mobile data when traveling and my truck has built in nav.

idk, it is possible but what I am hoping is that the natural attrition that will happen due to not allowing subsidized upgrades on unlimited data lines will so reduce the numbers of those of us who have unlimited data that they will leave us alone.

I'm also hoping this will be the case. It wont be worth it to a lot of people to pay full price if they don't use a lot of data. I have WiFi at my house and and work but I still use 8-10 GB a month. I'm trying to trim that down as much as I can so as to not draw any attention to me. Dunno if that'll make a difference or not but If theres a chance I might get throttled or limited in the future, I better make myself get used to using a lot less data.

I don't think Verizon can throttle. Knowing them, if they could throttle, they would. They do network optimize 3g devices but not 4GLTE devices. I think that it is a restriction of 700mhz block c. Notice Verizon is the only carrier offering factory unlocked phones even while under contract. They were also fined by the fcc for blocking tethering apps
