Verizon getting ripped apart on FaceBook

I would rather have blazing fast 90 percent of the time and "slow" 10 percent than slow 100 percent of the time.

Also, VZW coverage is not all its cracked up to be. Sitting on my porch near a major city (within 10 miles) and I am getting zero bars and 300kbs download.

If you're near a major city that means that your network is going to be loaded. I'm in a bigger city, about 30 miles from Chicago, and I pull 1.8 mb/s down and 600 up, and that's ALL the time, not just during slower hours.

Here, T-mobile was pulling down 4-5 mb/s down and 1.2 up, but their network was horribly temperamental. It would drop calls, drop down to a crawl, and drop signal completely about 50% of the time.

Honestly, I would take verizon at a constant 1 mb/s over T-mobile's network any day of the week.

the reason they are such a laughing stock is their failure to quell this situation. it could be done with a few keystrokes. it really is ludicrous. i know some people will never understand or think it is extreme, but if i had another option where i live (remote area, where VZW has a lock) i would be gone, no joke. gone. any company that doesnt have the common courtesy or intelligence to reach out to a mob of angry customers and just tell them something in a timely manner is not worthy of my money. even if it was, hey BB ****ed up, we never gave them a date. they should not have taken your money. or we ****ed up, we would like to apologize to BB for any damage we may have caused them. the tbolt, our first 4g phone is experiencing last minute bugs that our engineers are working fervently on to make sure when you finally get to ride the lightning it isnt just a spark.

Actually they're probably just laughing at you just like I am. You're mad at a company that hasn't delivered what they haven't promised you. They never gave a date to Best Buy. At worst they gave a time frame. But BB being the retail exclusive wanted to hype the phone so they could get more money. Heck no BB ad gave a date.
Also if they say "Well the Tbolt is having issues with Skype" and then "Well the Tbolt is having issues with the 4g radio.". Guess what, no one would buy it.

you are part of the problem. stating something you have absolutely no proof of like it is fact. are you an executive at either entity?

yes you are right. it is completely plausible that a multimillion dollar company awarded retail exclusivity by a multi billion dollar company got together and had no idea when the phone would actually be available and took preorders and released a twitter statement based on the fact that their fingers were crossed!!!! sorry millions of potential customers, but we were really hoping hard!!! you have no grasp of how big business is conducted.

i can almost guarantee you that no one would lose interest in the phone because of an announcement that the phone was having software/firmware problems that were being addressed. at least i can guarantee no one here would!!!! they are doing much more damage by not saying anything, period!!!!

Date for release of ThunderBolt

When I called the local Best Buy store (in the Twin Cities, MN) just now - to check on when my advance deposit of $50 would actually permit me to pick up the new ThunderBolt phone; I was told that the date would be Monday, 2/28. The person was reading from some company document dated Friday, 2/18. I am hoping that there will be a pleasant surprise, and it will actually come out tomorrow - as was rumored; but now we have another date!

I had to activate a second line so my Fiancee could use one now that her phone died today. I went to my local store with the intent that I would activate an old flip phone(I know lol) and use it for a bit IF they had any info about the Thunderbolt that would give me a little hope. If they didnt I was gonna throw in the towel and just buy a Incredible or X on a One year. 3 of the Reps standing there all said they were waiting for the phone themselves and they all strongly urged me to go the flip phone route and hang on because they all heard that the 28th was the day it would be out. I said well there has been plenty of rumors about dates but they reassured me that they had already received a bunch of accessories for the T-Bolt and when that happens "the phone follows within a week". They were all trained as well. I know this isn't new info but they all were getting the phone for their personal phones and were pretty confident in their statement. Who knows, I just need to see if it will be $250 or $300 and if the Data Plans for 4g stay the same price as 3g like they claimed as well. Its not hurting anything to use my flip for a bit and see, I just wish they would hurry it up.

i no what you mean ruger. my wife is still on a family plan with her parents. march 8th they are kicking her off, which i understand an wanted anyways. but i have been waiting on the bolt to get us both new phones. my iphone 3g is on its way out. shes using a lg env. sad. im not calling best buys or verizon, im simply waiting for verizon. i believe the issues with lte radio handoff to 3g needs to be fixed for a release. i really hope they worked hard on gettin by 28th. simply if not here by march 8th im stuck with my att bill an then paying her bill to keep her on that fam plan.

its frustrating. i dont wanna risk a 14-30 day trial lol

Lol wow thats funny how similar our situation is. Ya I even pondered the idea of doing a 14 day joy ride as well but that other rumor about mid March scared me off on that one. I have to say that when I first got my hopes up about the Bolt I was ready to make an expensive spur of the moment decision to get it. Now I've had more time to think it over and when they actually DO fill us in on the info for it, I am not going to be as impulsive.
