I hope it does come out on Thurs. For the op i hope some of the critics come back and apologize as well. Secondly i hope it come's out for the many that have been waiting for it. I have mine on Sprint and the phone is just fantastic.

Regaurdless of VZW dropping the ball (and kicking it into the street) getting flamed for posting what I had seen, even asked if I knew what store I was in? Seriously. People will be people.

But hey, atleast VZW has an HTC One now!!!

Well if you're anything like me you've been reading all their is to read about the One while you've been waiting for it. lol

I would suggest playing with all the camera function's right off. While Zoe shots dont overly impress me alone they make your highlights just come to life. Very impressed. That and the awesomely clear screen. I run Adw.ex but even stock Sense was liquid smooth... lol I'm getting excited for ya. Anyway enjoy your new device when you get it

I am excited about Thursday and the HTC One as well to see the phone I want on my carrier but I will have to wait a couple more weeks because my contract will not be up until the 18th.

Its all a matter of opinion. There are a lot of reason's the S4 is a better phone for some people and the same can be said for the Htc One. Just depends what you like. For me it was The One hands down. Either way you go, the options we have with phone's today is nice

Thanks!! Yea Ive watched/read every review out there...3 times. Im not a launcher fan but i could give it a try, the only thing for me is hopefully getting the option to remove blinkfeed and allow that to be another homescreen. Ill be taking alonger lunch than usual Thursday! Enjoy yours as well!!! All my friends in the business say people ask them about the VZW htc one almost everyday!!

You'll b fine the new rumored release date is Aug 15.

Don't take this as a flame toward you, OP, but this seems pretty fishy to me. I hope you're right and that it really launches Thursday, but every VZW employee I've spoken to says otherwise. All of them don't have the HTC One in store anywhere, don't have any shipments coming in for it and don't have it on their system to order. Keep in mind that this is in NYC, where the market is much bigger.

Why didn't you just take a picture of it as proof? And if you're tired of all the naysayers, why don't you go back and take a picture (if a trip to the store isn't out of the way)?

Also, the leaked roadmap was wrong. Where's the LG Exalt?

I report the following with ALL THE RESPECT IN THE WORLD for the OP and others who have confirmed the gist of his report:

Excited by the momentum in this thread of reports of a Thursday One release, I just called our local corporate store (Davenport, Iowa). The customer service rep did not know of a release this week, but checked the computer to be sure. He came back to the phone to tell me that the system showed no imminent release, and that were it to be released on Thursday, he and his colleagues would surely have received a briefing on the device by now. He further said that Verizon most always drops a new device on all stores simultaneously rather than on a subset of all stores, a detail that further dampened my enthusiasm. His bottom line to me was that he knows it's coming, but does not know when.

I very much hope that the people who have received info about a Thursday release get their Ones this week. In fact, I hope I do, too!! But from what I just heard from our local corporate store, my hopes are not high.

I called the Verizon retail store in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania a few moments ago. Store staff and manager have no knowledge as to the release of the HTC One on Thursday.

Everyone is welcome to post their CSR encounters as I have posted mine! We all have equal weight and I'm by no means stating im an insider or anything.

On the picture note, I was with my girlfriend in Dayton when I went to the store, I work/live in Northern KY/Cincinnati area so a trip there is unrealistic before Thursday. I just called another VZW store (non corp.) and they assured me the phone was coming out this week. I can say, I have not avoided calling corp. stores but lets be honest, if they are told by their employer not to say anything about the release of a phone, they arent going to say anything. If a random retail store "spills the beans" after being asked not to reveal information by someone who has no means of tracking that information, whos to say what store or employee wont tell customers in order to draw business there. Corporate stores have no incentive to disobey their employers demands, while retail stores do. Business.

Thats just my $.02 and is by no means an expert opinion.

My $.02: I have no doubts that you are accurately reporting your experience, and I hope like fire that what you've been told proves true for all of us!

For the record, the CSR person I spoke with from our local corporate store sounded completely authentic in his report that they have no record of a release this week. I take your point about the difference in motivations between corporate and retail store employees, but the stark differences in what various posters have heard from their stores still makes for a Twilight Zone situation.

Yeah, I can understand you taking that as an insult. But people do make innocent mistakes too, so it's not out of the question for that to have happened to you (or anyone else for that matter).

Anyway, I spoke to another employee from a non-corp store (I wouldn't trust anything the guys at the corp stores are saying because, as you said, they have no incentive to spill the beans), and he told me that as far as he could tell, it was initially supposed to launch on August 1. However, Verizon decided to delay the launch until September until after the new Droids were all out. At this point, it's clear that there are far too many conflicting reports from employees that are all probably confused themselves. I think the best we can do is just wait until Thursday because I don't think we're going to get anything concrete until then.

The store I called sounded very confident about it being available Thur. Not sure why they would be dishonest or say they will have it when they won't.
