Will you be switching to the iPhone?

On the side note im still not sure what my first android phone will be. I want to not be left behind so it will have to be dual core but everyone seems to have a hatred for motorola so I guess I'll have to wait for HTC to make a dual core announcement.

No hatred for motorola but motoblur. Try out blur on motoblur.com and see if you like it you an always use a launcher to cover up blur. Thats my plan.

I am another member who will not be leaving Android for the iPhone. Why would I move to a device that charges for apps that are free on Android?

(i.e., Angry Birds free on Android, but .99 on Apple). This is just one example.

When I've used an iphone in the past it feels like the whole UI is just a big app drawer, lol.

I think it may hurt Android due to the fact that there ARE people out there (certainly not everyone) who got Android because it was all they could get.

The dominance of iPhone is basically over. Like someone said before in this topic, it will just become another device in Verizon's line-up.

It's now all about choice. Android has proven to be a damn good OS.

I know many people will be curious while others will stand firm.. and few will jump ship. To each his own... you're paying your bill right...

Same with my mother and brother. They didn't want to get an Android smartphone, but are seriously considering the Iphone.

It has that much mindshare here.

Thank You Blopez21 for that site. After looking at the video's on there I do have many questions but from what it looks like motoblur sounds like it wouldnt be that bad. Is there a similar site for HTC that shows what sense is like?

My other questions are probrably asked all the time but I just never see that threads anywhere so here goes. ( Don't Worry Im not worried about BBM as only my sister uses it so I dont care that im loosing it. :-)

Are text messages threaded like they are on blackberry? It's really annoying doing text messages the old way and having to look at each sent and each recieved message individually.

Is there a windows based program that I can download that has the android froyo or gingerbread interface that I can play around with that can show the different skins etc?

I have looked at the tab for it but I can't help it I just don't understand. What is rooting? Everywhere I look for information just shows videos of people typeing freaking code and rebooting the phones etc and speak in terms and I never have a clue what they are doing or why they are doing it. I am a tech kinda guy but I have to be explained things a little more basic at first before I can run with it. It almost sounds like they are creating an administrator account for the phone to use so that certain programs can be used or installed that normally wouldnt be but im not sure.

One last thing I forgot to ask....Is it just blackberry or can you not have data working while on a call? I know texting works while on the phone but any data like facebook/emails etc always wait untill the call is over before they come in. Is that just a blackberry thing?

My middle school daughter has an iPhone. I have played with it quite a bit. It is nice device, but it is not the device for me. I like my android phone much better.

Will some VZ users jump ship? Sure. Love it or hate it, the iPhone is an iconic device, and some will switch just to try it out. Still, I think android devices will continue to grow on all carriers.

One of the reasons that iPhone is iconic is that it comes form one manufacturer and it does not change at a rapid pace. On the other hand, lots of manufacturers are competing to one-up each other with android devices. So, I believe that the iPhone on Vz will not slow down the development of android devices.

Flame Apple? Why would we do such a thing?

Seriously, what is up with this iPhone junk making its way to an Android site/blog. The wretched thing is like the worst case of hemorrhoids ever. No matter what you do, it will just not go away. I thought this would be my safe haven, a place where I could go and not here about it....but I guess I was wrong. Why was this not kept on TiPb.com and left off the AC?

Thank you......I need to leave. All these "Are you switching to the iPhone" threads are giving me a headache. Someone call me when they disappear.

People, why did you come to Android if you wanted an iPhone so bad. Get it over with and go out and buy the damn thing already.

I wasn't aware of, or remember about this thread. I made one similar to this. The search engine didn't bring this thread up at all. My apologies to the OP for duplicating his thread.

Meh i wont be. For 1 i cant afford my own plan and i am on a family plan. And second, i see no reason to buy an iphone on verizon when att now has a great selection of all types of smartphones now including windows 7 phones and android. In the fall of 2010 i would have said different but the first half of 2011 is shaping to be pretty good for android and att.

There is that voice/data simultaneous thing that i do take for granted every now and again. I mean i use email alot, and Instant messaging and such. Sometimes when i am on the phone for an hour+ i get a few emails or i could get 5 ims on my phone. If all that was being held up cause of the network i feel like the phone would just get backed up with trying to access sooo much data. I wonder how push notifications would do on the verizon iphone since it is a big feature. Another concern and this was for me aswell a year ago. I worked at a large cooperation and well we had own exchange accounts. I used to get email right on my phone and that was pushed. Being on the phone and getting important emails while you work at such a place is a must have thing. You need to multitask sometimes in that type of environment. I also know some people say that the company they work for likes to use the data network to receive phone calls from skype Mainly for people on the go. It seems like that could be a big miss for people who need it.

My wife is definitely getting the iPhone when it comes out but I'm more than content with my Droid X. There's just so much more control you have with an Android based phone. I would only consider the iPhone if they come out with some mind-blowing technology but even then I'm sure Android will counter with something of their own.

Never seen more asses in one room then on that Engadget podcast. Talk about Apple fanboys??? I had to vomit after listening to those clowns for one minute. I was banned from their website when I gave my honest opinion. They think they are movie stars rather then just reporters for an internet program. Just my Opinion.
PS Never change my Android to I-Phone.
