Verizon Launch Delayed..(rumors)

I'm sorry, but some people are really too emotional over a phone. Will I be disappointed if for some really unforeseen reason the Nexus doesn't come to Verizon? Of course, but I'm not going to pay the etf and go to a crappier carrier and pay more. I get a 25% corporate discount and I pay $20 a month for unlimited LTE data for 2 lines. Not $20 a line for data, but $20 for both lines. You can feel free to throw money around just for a phone, but I'm not going to.

Don’t want to make everyone feel worse but I would guess Verizon is going to hold off releasing the phone until the return period for the Droid Razr is over. I believe is 14 days, so I’m thinking nov 24th. Just my guess.

So what, if people want to switch carriers to get a device that they want what's the issue? I understand completely, Verizon has been giving us nothing but crappy locked down DROID branded devices for years now. If it was not for the couple HTC phones out the development community would be pretty screwed. I don't know about you but I refuse to support a company who is going to be like this. I understand it's their network and their rules but it defeats the whole point of Android. They're taking an open source OS and locking it down (yes Motorola is blaming Verizon for the lock downs so don't say it's the OEM). My contract is up and this device is the only thing keeping my Verizon line active at the moment. I'm not saying how I feel is how everybody should feel but I also don't think it's getting "too emotional" to switch carriers to get a device that we can't get at Verizon.

Hopefully Panda meant that the 3-10 dates might turn out crappy and he did not mean the launch as a whole. This way in a few weeks we can look back and laugh at this whole thing.

yeah if verizon cancels the release I will do the same because my contract is just about up. I don't think it will come to that but I will be getting this device whether or not verizon does

As an employee at Verizon I see a lot of documents and promotions that the public doesn't see. Trust me this phone is not getting cancelled. It will be out soon enough...

On a side note...I've seen a couple photos of the Verizon version of our Nexus and I'm pretty sure everyone will be pleased.

Now you have me wondering, I didn't realize it would be any different than what we've already seen, other than maybe being a little thicker.

Some people were concerned with the positioning of logos on the phone....All I'll say is that it's nothing to worry about.

That's cool, thanks. I don't want to push it, and get you in trouble.

add another thing to the list of great products/services/features that will be immediately hated if turns out to not fall in line with the nexus.

Verizon.

This is like the boston red sox management over here.

Would you consider the eBay pre-order auctions showing a 32gb VZW GN absurd? Emphasis on the 32gb part :D

Good forbid VZW delays one of their bloat phones. I really hate my carrier. I've been with them ten years and I've almost had enough.

10 years & your not fed up, yet. That's gotta be a record. I was sick of them w/in a couple of months. You must have the patience of Job, my friend. Only reason I'm still here after 7 is cuz they got me hooked on 4g speeds, which gave me an insatiable LTE fetish.

If that was the strategy, they would have to wait until the initial sales rush from in-store dies and then calculate out 14 days from the following Thursday. While I don't think that's the strategy, that's the minimum time-frame I would guess.
The 17th will not happen.
Logically: Samsung/Google has been promoting. They have ads all over. They just held a European announcement that it was coming out the 17th there. If it was coming out here on the 17th, wouldn't they go as big as they could, have a worldwide announcement that it was coming out "everywhere" on the 17th?

Sorry to be pooping on the release dates so much, but I think people are less disappointed with realistic expectations they don't like than favorable expectations that aren't met.

Anyone who thinks Verizon isn't screwing this up, ask yourselves this.
"Why is Slovakia getting this phone before me?"

Another theory I see lol. You guys and gals aren't getting me any more. I am just going to unsubscribe from these threads till after it's in stores. I keep saying that yet keep getting sucked back in lol

Happy to hear about Slovakia. Very nice people! Reminds me of traveling in Yugoslavia in the late 80s--right after crossing the border there was a billboard with a picture of a the most popular beer and the words: "Now available in cans! "

Thanks, Robrecht

Slovakia is getting it before the US because they use GSM. US phones need to be "tailored" and "optimized" by the carriers before they hit the shelves.

Slovakia is a part of European Union not sure what's wrong with them getting a phone?
It's the same as if a British guy asked you "why did North Dakota get a thunderbolt and the UK didn't?"
