Verizon Lollipop is here!!!

Did those of you that used the upgrade assistant receive a notification that an update was available? I just did a quick chat with the tech support and they said it depends on the phone and I would get a notification. Even with a download via computer? I have the Best Buy version. Would that matter?

used Vzw assistant to check. Took only about 10 min for the download on my 50/3 cable connection. Phone took probably 20 minutes for the update including the "upgrading android apps" period. My win8.1 laptop could not find the upgrade in the lg-vzw assistant. My phone was rooted on stock kit kat before the upgrade but appears the root is gone.

OK. Thanks. I'll use a different computer.

The Verizon upgrade assistant is built into the LG G3 from my POV. Very strange that some sites think [and link you to god know where and what] to download it for the G3. And the Verizon support page misleads the same way saying there is a CD for it -- but the CD wound up being a virtual CD from the phone, (see below,) haha. I had the driver installed, but it would not autoplay the 'CD' as my Win 7 system quickly was switching from 'installer' to 'media'. I noted my system still had my Samsung SII as a playable autoplay device and removed that unused phone (just in case) via regedit. Then, I kept the phone attached via USB, rebooted the PC since I still was not getting anywhere and finally noted the CD in my Explorer right after the reboot, clicked it and went merrily to install. Just finished the install now, and went from stock VS98512B to VS98523C.

Word of caution. After upgrading and seemingly running flawlessly last night, hiccups occured this morning with all Google apps, email and Microsoft Exchange. Finally bit the bullet and factory reset. Giving it a few days to settle in. Seems to be much more stable.

No matter what I try to do it will not show up in the Verizon upgrade tool. When I click to launch it after plugging it in, it launched Verizon Cloud, so I uninstalled that and tried again and all it does is open a webpage to install Verizon Cloud. This is too much work for this crap. I'll just wait for the OTA...

I upgraded last night while watching a ball game on my second monitor. When I connected my phone to the computer one of the choices in the LG pop up window was to start Verizon upgrade monitor, after it installed a window showed in the lower right saying upgrade available. I clicked on download and then nothing. After several repeats my game was over and the window for the install to the phone was behind the ballgame window. Installed and took a long time updating apps. Then when 5.01 updated notification said Playstore needed to update. Then that stalled at 54%. Finally had to shut phone down twice and restart before it updated and Playstore now works. As with the last several updates I am not blown away with any new features. Yes, I have notifications on lock screen but that is about all. I run Nova Launcher on my phones so maybe that is a reason not noticing much. The back button is different but I frankly preferred the previous.

Did mine last night took about 30 min..works great no problems here dont know what u guys are doing wrong..After install was done had to update google play services 7.0.99 ..THE phone works great not one problem

Mine has finally settled down after a hard reset and several reboots. I removed the notifications from lock screen. Since you could only see 2 and not really be able to interact with them.

Well, it isn't that hard to install drivers and connect via USB. But when I do that I get nothing in the vzw upgrade box. It doesn't even list my device after it is finished detecting. I have tried on Windows Vista and 8.1. Not sure what the deal is. I know some have success on 7 but I don't have a Windows 7 computer.
