Other then a wipe, do I need to unroot, lock the bootloader, etc?

Last time since the phone wouldn't boot, I didn't bother but since this one works outside signal issue and rebooting/ reactivating, I am thinking I should unroot.

Just reflash the original rom that is posted here to get it to factory state?

Follow these instructions exactly: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/1...the-bootloader-and-return-to-a-factory-state/

I followed them to the point a few weeks ago when I had to start my phone from scratch because of some issues.

EDIT: Before you do, make sure you grab everything you need off your sd card, copy it all to your computer. Even your TiBu backup folder.. you can restore the stuff you need on your new phone so you don't have to lose all that game progress, etc, lol :)

Thanks. Looks like my issue isn't just with my device. So I may not need replacing. I thought a different sim would work.

Unrooted and ready for the new device.

Old device when unrooted got better reception but in places where there was a signal but dropped out in other places....
