Searched and see the thread below that has some reference. I did not put the link for the closed thread that also appears in the search results.

Have a Verizon Pixel 128GB on order, and just remembered that I use the Verizon Mobile Hotspot on my Note 5 enough for the feature to matter. So, would like to be sure that the Verizon Mobile Hotspot app is available for and supported for the Pixel. If anyone has experience or has used the Verizon Mobile Hotspot, would appreciate the info.

I believe if you pay for the service you can get it.
No extra payment is needed if you are on the current plan or even the two previous plans. Some ancient plans do require an additional fee, though you can move to a current plan at any time to avoid that charge

@ Trees - If your plan supports it the Pixel will work just fine with hotspot :). I get 7 GB of High-Speed Tether via my T-Mobile plan and have had no issues firing up the hotspot when needed.

No app has been needed to do this. It's a part of Android in the setup screens. And on some/most phones they have a quick button to turn on hotspot.

I am on unlimited plan

I am on unlimited plan

Unlimited data plans were not offered to new lines after mid 2011 so it's a pretty old plan. Since you have an ancient plan, you need to pay the hotspot fee. Or you can move to a new plan and avoid the fee.

Thanks all for the info. Updated the plan at the same time while getting the Pixel. Had an older 8GB shared option, went to 10, and received 2GB extra for life - apparently for being a longtime customer. Saved $20 a month by moving to new plan.

So, think I'm going to be OK with Mobile Hotspot from an implementation and usage standpoint.
