Verizon primarily uses cdma radios. Even though it uses a sim card for their lte network, it lacks the proper radio frequencies to wirk on att. Youll need to purchase an unlocked gsm version to work on att.

As noted, this will not work. It lacks the hardware to run on GSM networks.

That is separate. It allows you to open the bootloader so that you can flash radios, firmware, etc. very easily.
