Verizon note 3 owners ? About hearing

I called my wife today and she said I sounded far away then sobbed normal again.
Called a friend and he said the same thing.
Has anyone else had this happen ?

Seems like voice you can hear clear and then sounds like you set the phone down and talked thru it.

Maybe my finger when I hold it gets put over the mic idk

This is the first report of this I've heard. Perhaps something was indeed intermittently covering the mic?
