Verizon Note 3: When will we have KitKat?

I think they have started reducing the amount of redundant Samsung apps per their agreement with Google. The GS5 didn't ship with it either.

I am honestly hoping that the NEXT Note 3 update (after KitKat) brings its TW up to par with that found on the GS5.

Is it me or is this rom missing samsung apps...I have the samsung hub or was the Samsung apps not included in Kit Kat.

I had to download apps from Samsung website. The hub is still in the update

And what are these "bugs" that people always state when talking about Verizon's lethargic march to updating? Is Verizon's q/c far more superior than other networks? If so, then why did I experience lagging, clock isssues, and wifi headaches when this beautiful device was released? Headaches that seem particularly unique to Verizon?

Exactly, couldn't have said it better. This is why I can't understand why people stick up for Verizon. It's clearly them holding up the update for what ever reason it may be. Most likely it is due to one of their bloatware apps that they can't get to play nice with KitKat, or they want more security added for the bootloader or they want more KitKat faleatures blocked like tap to pay, etc. Whereas, other us carriers have pushed it out way back in February and March. Sprint had a second KitKat update already which added wifi calling. Clearly Samsung is getting them timely updates and then the carriers test it and push it. Verizon keeps wanting more and more to be added or taken away. Samsung is not having Verizon only carrier issues related to the base KitKat OS. It's what Verizon wants. Samsung has managed to do their part and things are working on other cdma networks like sprints just fine and others who use gsm like at&t. Samsung is pushing out updates for the Note 2 now and France just got it, sprint is getting ready to release it for their S3, and the galaxy note 3 Neo has been getting it it as well and it's the dumbed down version of the "flagship" note 3. It's frustrating that we still don't have it.

If I hated Verizon I'd stop giving them money every month. Their superior network, speeds and reliability are well worth waiting a few extra weeks for a relatively minor update.

I'm switching to AT&T when the Note 4 comes out, and it 's because of Verizon's slow update process. I live in North Hollywood, there isn't a noticeable difference between the two carriers. It has been a month plus, since other Note 3's have received the update. Regardless if Kit Kat is minor or not ( that is debatable), I like receiving updates and being on the cusp of innovation, be it hardware or software. If people are happy with their Note 3 as is -well good for them!

Minor is relevant to who's waiting.. My wifi is unusable.. Im of the understanding that this update will fix this. I had to move to a huge data plan to avoid overage fees because I can't use wifi in my own home.. So for me, it's a pretty significant update, if it indeed will fix this..

Most of us that think logically, instead of emotionally, choose products with a list of priorities in mind. In my case coverage is the absolute number one priority of any phone. KitKat doesn't help me one iota if my car is stuck by the side of the road and I can't call for service. Living in Southern California Verizon has the best coverage of any carrier. Any other criteria pales in comparison to coverage.

Updating to the latest version of Android isn't particularly compelling. I have KitKat on my Note 10.1 (2014) and simply wish I hadn't taken the upgrade as the SD card issue makes some apps inoperable. I'll certainly delay the KitKat upgrade as long as possible on my Note 3.

What a condescending statement. Well logically speaking, I've had more dropped reception and inconsistent data speeds with Verizon than AT&T - especially by the beach(Santa Monica, Malibu, Port Hueneme).

Awww don't say that!! I am moving back to the Malibu area and I have Big Red. I can't have crappy service.

I can't get AT&T at my house but get 4 bars and LTE there with Verizon. Speaking logically, maybe you didn't choose wisely.

And, yes, it was condescending. But just in keeping with the spirit of the quoted post.
