I am trying to attach a USB connection from a Blood Glucose meter to an OTG hub. The I attach that to the Note 4 to send the Blood Glucose reading from the Note 4 through the internet.

I an trying to determine if the Note 4 is cable of charging while it is connected to the OTG hub at the same time? I bought some 4 way OTG hubs on Ebay from China and they didn't work. The description on the Hubs said they work on a Note and S3, S4, and S5. I'm wondering if the cables are China crap or if only the Note works with the cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No. OTG reverses the power connections on the USB connector to be outgoing power. Charging and OTG are opposites. You can charge something else with OTG, but you can't charge the phone with OTG.

It's not a Samsung thing, it's not a Verizon thing, it's an OTG thing.

If the glucometer has to use an OTG connection, you can't charge the phone while transferring data. If it doesn't, you'd need a USB splitter - power wires to one connector (to charge the phone) and data wires to another connector (to connect the glucometer).

Interesting. I thought for sure some people on our Type I diabetes group say they are able to charge the device at the same time, but I just haven't seen anyone using the On5 or Note 4 yet. The OTG has a button on the side that says "Charge", so I thought I would be able to charge it. :( I think people were saying it works for the S4 so maybe I should just buy one of those to use.
