Verizon Note Edge Thread

Hmmm...That is a good question. Most of the Tasker apps, I have poached from other users. I do not think that they would have a script for that yet. There are a lot of Tasker apps that are out there. I think that there is a Tasker Reddit. I know there is a tasker wiki. It is a very popular program.

I'd love more customization/personalization of the edge screen without rooting (cuz of warranty and Knox and crap lol) since there's so much possibility and potential with it.

There is no root required with Tasker unless you want to get into the real advanced settings. It automates the routine stuff. For example, when you are home and using Wifi, it can turn off your location (if you want) and turn off data. When you are in your car, you can program it to do certain things and open certain applications and turn off Wifi. When I am at work, I do not want to use the wifi so, the wifi is turned off and that helps your battery run longer. You can also create a night mode, etc..

Tasker is a little harder than one of the other competing apps (I cannot remember the name of it) but, with Tasker you have more options.

Yeah, I wanna get a little more into tasker, just haven't really done much

WIRED EAR BUDS with GREAT MIC SOUND?

I just did a test of outgoing (mic) sound quality between my Bluetooth headset, vs basic Samsung wired ear buds, Note Edge's speakerphone and using the phone traditionally.

The best mic sound was of course using the phone traditionally, but the second best and almost the same sound quality was with the BT. The worst was the wired ear buds by far, the mic sound was muddy.

Any ideas for a good outgoing sound quality on a wired ear bud. I like the convenience of them.

TIA,

Has anyone seen an intensive review for this unit yet? I'm eager to take a look!

Look at Flossy Carter's review on Youtube. I heard about him on Android Central. I believe it was a 20 or 30 minute review. He also reviews the Note 4 and Note 4 and Edge cases

I'm very impressed with the battery usage so far. The overnight drain is only 1%. And the phone under my normal run uses 50% battery for a whole day.

God I wish! My overnight drain is 15%. I'm at 53% now. Just killed the Amazon app suite and hope that makes a difference for me. I'm at the point I'm about to do a factory reset and start over.

LOVE this phone. Although I am used to top android devices, this baby takes the cake.

The battery is lasting two days, the Edge panel is brilliant!!! Glad waited to for it.

How many of you relate!!!

I went in to buy edge yesterday but I was shocked for the purposes of watching video screen is actually smaller than note 3 I like to watch tv and movies so a smaller screen is a no go. Now Im waiting for vzw to get new nexus.

You'll be waiting until mid February if I heard right :/

Just to clarify Note Edge has a 2560X1600 screen (vs 2560X1440 on the N4). The Edge panel is not a secondary screen, it's part of the main screen. So the Edge is in fact wider than the Note 4 by about 1/4" but it's also shorter by about 1/4".

No, it's 2560x1600+140 or something dumb like that.. They list it as, in my opinion, a separate, yet fully flush and connected, screen that flows over the edge. Correct me if I'm wrong though, it's a bit late here :/

no, there is no plus, it's all one screen. but if you like it's 2560X1440 plus 160 pixels, which is 2560X1600 for the Edge (vs 2560X1440 for Note 4), which is what I said.

Oh, okay. Maybe it's just the way they developed the screen? Idk it's a very interesting issue since it has a higher dpi than the note 4

yep, it's higher PPI for the Edge because they packed more pixels for almost the same size screen.

I like the Edge screen better because it's wider than the Note 4. And then the Edge panel pops up brings with it so much more functionality.

Judging by how busy the Note 4 forums are, vs very quiet Edge forum, no question they have sold 50 or 100 times as many Note 4s. But as a long time Note user, I love the Edge.
