Verizon offer FREE INC2 or X2

Funny I just now saw this. I went to the store near my house today just to look at the Charge and other 4G offerings. The store manager came up and he and i started talking. I immediatly told him I wanted to upgrade but I'm not even at the 1 year mark of my contract, but i was considering paying full price for something if it's worth while.

He asked me if I liked my Fascinate and if I had any trouble with it, and I told him I liked it a lot and I hadn't had any issues with missed calls (to my knowledge). He quietly told me about how customer service was swapping out problem fascinates with Charges, all I had to do was call them and tell them I was missing calls. And he got quiet when he was telling me this, so I believe he was really trying not to be heard by others.

just trying to decide if I want to dump my fascinate for a charge, since it is a bigger phone.

as of 9PM est you can still get them to swap out the Fascinate for the Charge. I just did it. He even called over to my local store to order it for me to save the hassle of going there to do it myself.

I told him nothing that was a lie or exageration. Dropped calls are the issue and they know that so he was happy to switch it out right away. He was pushing the dinc and the X2, but I told him they would be downgrade in terms of the screen (yeah I like the samoled too much) and he really didnt balk at much. I think he just had to try to get me on one of the others for the sake of procedure.

I am gonna miss the Fascinate, but looking forward to new things with the Charge

i believe you can keep your unlimited plan according to earlier verizon annoucement...
and plan will be same even if you get your 4g

You don't have to revert back to stock before you call. You have to revert back to stock before you send them the phone back if you get a replacement.

As of 6:00 P.M. ET, this still works. I called in and they tried to walk me through a few things and gave me two options. Wait 24 hours and call back or they could send me a new Incredible 2, Droid X2, or go into the nearest store and pick up a Droid Charge. He said this new promotion started on July 8th. He also mentioned that they may start your contract over again. However he did not state how long this would last.

I really liked my fascinate also. With this forum I had tons of options to try thanks to all of the great developers, themers and support people. I've also had problems other people have mentioned here but decided to put up with it since I liked the phone. But hearing that they will now send you a different replacement phone has me wanting to try something different. Hopefully they will offer me a charge, but I would consider the Inc2 as well. Returned my phone to stock ED04 and did a factory reset like the verizon tech told me to and died a little inside. :'( The thing was so ugly and laggy as heck! But it is all a means to an end. Plus I put Launcher pro plus back on it and it is not as bad. So I will leave it like this for a day or two and then call them back. Hopefully they offer me the charge.

Can anyone who's received their replacement comment on the signal strength of your new phone? I've really had enough of the Fascinate's horrible reception - calls break up all the time at home, every time my phone rings, I have to run upstairs and stand near a window in the hopes of actually having a clear conversation. I thought I was stuck with it for the remainder of the contract, but if there's an option to swap to another phone, I'd do it in a heart beat. I've had the missed calls issue as well, so I should qualify.

So, what phone did you get as a replacement and how does the signal quality compare to what you got on the Fascinate. Also, are the dedicated buttons on the charge soft or physical? (I really don't like physical buttons).

The Charge does have physical buttons and cant comment on signal quality didn't get mine yet.

I didn't think I'd like the physical buttons on the Charge because I don't like them on the X/X2, but they aren't that bad, only take a little pressure to push down, really not that bad.

I was told today that my new charge will not come with a 32 gb card. I guess I will find out by Wednesday lol.
