Verizon offer FREE INC2 or X2

I got my Charge ordered today. The rep didn't believe me when I told him about the trade in deal going in, but after he looked it up, he said he was going to start calling his friends with Fascinates to see if they want to trade them in.
It's kind of bittersweet because I've loved my Fascinate from the day I got it, on release day. I just couldn't turn down the offer to take advantage of the brand new LTE in my area.
 
I was told today that my new charge will not come with a 32 gb card. I guess I will find out by Wednesday lol.

sat Tech gave me an option for the droid X2 i declined that offer and ask for something that had the hummingbird processor. he offered me the droid charge from Samsung and i accepted.. supposedly all i had to do was walk into the nearby Verizon store on Monday (today) and swap for the charge. i told him i had problems before,, and after my complaints,, my fascinate had went for a swim in the tn aquarium,,, but was retrieved fast and my problems had been consistant for 6 months... that my patience was wore out.
so went to store he had told me to go to and they gave me the hassel of my life wanting to see the fascinate,, wondering if they could fix it etc.. and all that BS>> i got P issed off told them the techs had done all they can do and give me my phone.. the manager says well i see here you declined the droidx2, and the tech guy had called about the samsung droid charge. you declined the droidx2 and so we cant do anything.. i tell them siince the tech had called he had to of had a reason to call bout the charge for a swap or he wouldnt havent bothered calling. VZW POed me so bad i wanted to beat someones head in.. (PTSD from vietnam) but i restrained myself.. all those people understand is sheer brute force.. and were about to get some,..

back on topic, after i made a call to the main techies and handed the store manager the phone he changed up attitudes and still said he had to order it.. but this time it wasnt in 10 days it was tomorrow or next day.. told me if the fassy showed much water damage i'd have to pay 299. i said do it.. if i turn fassy into ins they will replace it and i could bring them the sent fassy for the charge..

now my hopes and my bubble was busted when i read the other postings about 4g 3g etc etc .. crap all i wanna do is have a ph that will navigate, make/recieve calls. and something to piddle with..
at least the charge shows it has an antenna where the fassy has none.

i hope mine will at least do that.. now i have doubts,, should i have taken the droidx2 or ????
 
They told me mine would be coming with one....
I guess I'll just have to wait for mine to come in in order to figure out if it comes with a 32 gb SD card. As far as the 4G issues, I'm not in a 4G area for now and probably won't be for awhile. As long as the phone can make/receive phone calls in addition to all the the positives from the Fascinate, I'll be satisfied for a few months
 
So some of you are having the Charges sent to you? Or am I mistaken? And my thing, I went against my better judgement and went into my local Verizon today instead of the new store that has excellent service. The rep said they never replace phones in store and that the techs were wrong. After arguing with I told him thanks for nothing fat-ass and walked out. After I go to the other store and get one I'm going to go back and rub it in his face and tell him he needs to learn.

Strange, I just called in and I said I'm having miss called issues with my phone and she said what software version do you have on the phone and I said Ed04, and she said that is causing a lot of issues and we can change you out for a different phone I can get you the droid charge or Inc2 or droidx2. Just like everyone else on here. Should get my charge on Wednesday.Yeah I'm wondering if mine is going to come with a 32 gig card as well. My gf got the charge hers was brand new came in the charge box just like if she bought it.Came with the card and everything she had to go to the store to get the sim card and that was it.Hope mine comes that way. Let any of us know what kind of charge you guys get new or ...certified like new.
 
I have heard from more than one person that you had to go to the store for the sim card. I wonder why that is? I am semi-sure that the TB came with a sim card in the box (could be wrong). It would kinda suck if I have to run out for it. Not complaining much but still...
 
The tech guy on the phone told me that I could only get the X2 or Incredible 2 and definitely not the Charge. I told the guy I would think about it and went to my local store and asked for the charge anyways. The sales guy at the store knew about the Fascinate problem and said he HAD to order one for this process to go through and couldn't give me one off of the shelf. He also said the 4G sim card had to be given to the customer at "a point of sale", meaning the store. It all depends on who you talk to. Hope this works for others too!
 
It wasn't easy, but I finally got an exchange approved. Went to the store to order it, and was told it should be here in 2 days. I asked about the SIM card and the rep said that it would be shipped to me as well...we'll see.

The tech on the phone was only able to offer the Incredible 2 or the X2, but I insisted on the Charge as I was aware that others were getting that as an option too. He wouldn't budge, but as soon as I asked to talk to his manager, he agreed and got him on the phone. The manager was the bomb, very nice guy quickly approved it and explained that i should expect a factory reconditioned unit. I have 2 Fascinates on my family plan and I confirmed with him that they would change out both and he did, but when I went to the store they denied me the second one, so I'll have to call tomorrow to figure this out.

The reps on the phone have been awesome so far. The guy at the retail store was a complete ******, I told him I was there to exchange the phone, that I had called customer service and they told me to come down, he asked for the box, cables, manuals...etc. I told him that I didn't have it and he said I won't be getting an exchange, i told him to pull up my accounts as the notes indicated that the rep I talked to called the store ahead to confirm the exchange for a Fascinate to a Charge and he scoffed at me, saying "a Fascinate for a Charge!? Now I know that's not happening"...after looking at my account he shut up and said...oh wow, there it is. He processed the order and said to expect it in two days.

Sucks that I have to go back to that ****ty store for my other phone tomorrow or later this week.

Tech support was worthless, they asked tons of questions about stuff like when I last updated. After almost 20 minutes of being questioned she had me do a factory reset and told me to call back if it happens again. She also called the phone a few times to test and naturally I received every call.
Ill try again tomorrow. I need a dependable phone for work.

I would just call another time because like I said mine was quick and easy and they offered me mine right away as soon as I said i had the missed call problem.
 
I ended up with the Incredible 2. I love Samsung and the Charge but I wanted to try out HTC and Sense, plus they just upgraded to Gingerbread. :)
 
Can anyone who's received their replacement let us know how the signal strength compares to the Fascinate? I'd love to replace mine with an Inc 2, but I've read it has a similarly week antennae.

I just got my new Charge at 11:00. It appears to be new and not a refurb. It did come with the 32 Gb card installed, about 3/4 of the way to a full battery charge and has that new phone smell. I do have to run over to the store to get a sim card since there isnt one provided....

It also does look like I will have to return my broken down Fascinate. no big deal.

I cannot comment on signal strength yet because of not having a sim card but I am off to the store right now!

Tell them straight up that you don't trust your phone, you fear what would happen if an emergency situation comes up. You are paying for the service and you demand a working phone, you've already done the hardware reset twice and its getting you no where and that you don't see how a replacement is going to be the same.

Ask to speak to a supervisor if the rep isn't getting you what you need.

I told them the truth. That I work for a hospital, and I'm on call a lot. I've missed calls in the past and luckily no one died because I missed the call. And that now I know that this is a known problem, I expect them to correct the problem as soon as possible before something bad does happen. Then I got a little bit selfish when I asked for the Charge after he offered me the Inc2 or the X2.

This may not be your case, but I was calm, honest, and respectful to the tech, and he pretty much gave me what I asked for without question.

Please report back when you get your phone activated. I really want to replace my Fascinate and want to make sure I don't have the same issues. Form factor-wise, I'd love the Inc 2, but everything I've read suggests that it has a really week antennae. Hopefully the Charge will be better.
 
When I called the guy just asked me what baseband I was on, I told him ED04 and he just said the missed calls was a known problem, told me samsung was trying to fix it, and offered me the other three phones too.

The charge does have 5 signal baras compared to the Fascinate's 4 I think, so it may seem like you have a better signal, but mine is about the same call quality wise it seems. Can barely get 4G at home, which I expected.

Tell them you have done all the research, you have done all the troubleshooting and you KNOW that the Charge is one of the options for your replacement. Tell them that the Dinc or x2 would be a downgrade from the amoled screens you are used to and that they are unacceptable replacements.

That is more or less what I did, the guy I talked to didnt bat an eye at giving it to me...

I know it has only been 2 hours now since I have had the Charge but the GPS lock was instant and I have yet to come off of the 4G speed that are running around 13 Mbps

EDIT: The only two things I do not like so far is the ugly brown theme colors and the physical buttons are going to take a few minutes to get used to . I am so used to the soft keys...lol

I finally got someone who knows what there doing. My droid inc2 will be here tomorrow.
I hope its dependable.
