Verizon offer FREE INC2 or X2

To those of you that got the Charge:
How does it feel in the hand compared to the Fascinate?
Does the thickness bother you?
Do the physical buttons bother you, or do you prefer them over the capacitive?

I am considering looking into this as well, but would love to hear what you have to say

Obviously it is wider and thicker compared to the fassy, but it feels pretty good in the hand. The worst part is the placement of the USB connector when you are trying to get in CWM or Download mode. Also at the bottom where you talk into is way thicker, but IMHO it actually makes it easier to hold while talking on it. I kinda like that part. The battery cover is flimsy when taken off but not that big a deal.

I prefer the capacitive i think but getting used to the physical buttons is becoming easier and easier. More of a non-issue than I thought it would be.

People we talking about it dropping between 3g and 4g constantly but so far today I havent seen it. Been on nothing but 4g for almost 12 hours. Battery life seems much better as well but it too small a sample so far to say for certain

Dang..my Droid Charge came UPS today attempted at 9:30am but I was asleep until 9:45. Must have missed his knocking/doorbell ringing. It has to be a direct signature so I will be getting up early tomorrow for a second attempt...hopefully it has everything I need! I'll let you all know!.

Question: I purchased my Fascinate at Best Buy (actually it was free with contract). Anyway I'm past 30 days and have had 2 missed calls so far that I know of. Will Verizon support help me with my phone or would I go back to Best Buy? Just curious...

Who do you pay monthly for your service contract? That's who handles your phone issues ;)

Haha got it. Will be calling Verizon tomorrow. To be perfectly honest, I like the Fascinate and do not want a new phone, but I cannot be missing calls. Unacceptable.

Called Verizon today, took about 10 minutes. Told him the problems I was having (missed calls, poor data, dropped 3g, etc.) and that I was concerned about missing calls. I asked about exchange options, and he offered the incredible 2, and the x2, I declined stating I would like to pay the difference for a 4g phone, he said he could talk to his supervisor about an early upgrade, the supervisor let him and I know I wouldn't need an early upgrade for the Charge and that it was an option for replacement as well. Made note on the account, going into Verizon store when they open today.

I just spent about a half hour pushing for the charge but they wouldnt budge. I may have to call back and push a little harder as I am not interested in the inc 2 or x2.

Got it today via UPS. Brand new in the box. NO SIM card though. Bummer. I guess I'll have to goto the Verizon store.

Just call back and try to speak to someone else. I just called, and was offered the standard 3 phones right away. I explained the problem to the first rep, who acknowledged it was a known problem. She said she'd connect me with a tier 2 tec who would talk through steps to fully reset my phone which should fix it. I said OK and was prepared to play along, but the tier 2 guy checked a few things and then offered the 3 phones as a replacement right away.

As much as I would have preferred the Incredible 2, I went with the Charge because of the many reports of the Inc's week signal strength. No 4G in my area, so that doesn't matter.

Just called Verizon support. Rep did not offer me a new phone (not surprising, this was my first call to them regarding this phone). He walked me through a battery/sd pull, several hidden menu updates, a couple of tower updates. Told me that the next step is to do a factory reset (haha) to address the issue. Oh well, I guess I'll have to jump through these hoops first and, against all odds, maybe it will help the problem. I have my doubts.

Swenpro, none of it will work. Call back until u get a csr that will accomodate you. Some vzw cs reps can be stonewalling jackasses.

i just told them that I had already researched the issue and done all those troubleshooting things (which in reality I have considering how many things I have flashed to the Fassy) and none of them help the problem. Still getting missed calls. I also told them the Dinc and the X2 were downgrades that were unacceptable. Once I said all that, done Charge came in the mail.

My sis went to the store to order the Charge last night after I had ordered mine on Tuesday and they told her that they don't have any more Charge in stock right now. Told her to check back in 2-3 days :/

Also, the dumbass rep told her that this counts as our upgrade and we wouldn't be able to upgrade for 20 more months.

I don't see how that is as we didn't extend our contract. These people just seem to talk out of their ass. Great service from the reps on the phone so far, but the local store has a bunch of idiots working for them.

Just got off the phone with VZW and they only offered the Inc2 or X2. I pressed the issue on the Charge, but they wouldn't budge. After telling to the third person, they informed me that they are out of Charges as well, so it wasn't an option

@Kevin I got the same info when I called yesterday. Knowing I wouldn't have 4g in my area anytime soon anyway I went with the Inc2. I was told I would be recieving it on thurs(tomorrow). A FedEx truck shows up this morning and I'm thinking "Cool a day early". So I open the box and it was a Fascinate! Uhhgg! I call up VZW ready to do battle.
I get routed to a tech after telling them what had happened. The tech was great! He says "I know you were probably excited about a new phone then you open it up and see another Fascinate and your thinking Whhaaaatttt" . I just laughed and said "exactly".
He said that there is a problem with their system that the system doesn't recognize the "new offerings" and if the tech's aren't paying attention that the system will switch the replacement back to a fascinate. So I hope this helps some others who will be exchanging their phones. Just make sure they double check everything! LOL!
So now I will be getting the Inc2 I ordered tomorrow! :)

I got the out of charges too. I might call up all the verizon stores in the area and look for a charge. If not, do i get inc2 or x2?

That seems to be the case now, I actually just got a call back from the rep I spoke to this morning and he said they're all out of Charges. He said he checked at several stores in my area, but none had any in stock (referb units, which I can't really argue over).

I reiterated my concern over signal strength going to the Incredible 2, and he told me if it was an issue, to let him know and it wouldn't be a problem exchanging that for either the X2 or Charge (when it was back in stock). So, I switched the replacement to the Inc. 2 which, to be honest, was my preferred choice anyway. I played with both in the store, and the Incredible 2 just felt better - more solid and I like the smaller size. The screen is the same resolution, so any additional size on the Charge is pointless in my opinion.

I'm going to be disappointed if I don't get the Charge as promised by the rep last night. Is the Inc 2 a better phone?

FYI my sis just got off the phone with Verizon and they confirmed that they got 600 Droid Charge phones in stock. So those of you who are holding off, do it now.
