Verizon offer FREE INC2 or X2

It seems Verizon is making it harder and harder for people to exchange their phones with anything but another fascinate.

Sorry to hear that. When I replaced mine, I got the name and e-mail of the tech who handled the exchange. I love the Incredible and today I e-mailed him asking if we could exchange my wife's Fascinate too. He e-mailed back asking if the second Incredible should be sent to the same address as the first. He said he'll be out of the office tomorrow, but can overnight it on Wednesday so we'd receive it on Thursday. No questions asked, he couldn't have been more helpful, from not even bothering to have me troubleshoot my Fascinate to this. It's been a very pleasant surprise given some of my previous dealings with Verizon.

WHOOHOOO. Just got off the phone with a very nice tech support woman. I'm now on my way to the store to get my new charge Charge. :)
 
And just got back from the Verizon store. I didn't want to wait. ;)
They did 2 day Fed Ex.

i just got back a bit too... big fiasco though.... took about an hour to get squared away.

They did 2 day Fed Ex as well, but I did not get a tracking number yet...

Funny (not so) thing happened to me... I had my package arrive today.... I was all excited, opened it up and inside was refurbed Fascinate! Even the reciept inside indicated I should have a Dinc2... but yeah.
So I give them a call, my account indicates they sent me a Dinc2, etc etc. Turns out the system overrides the phone choice and returns to default since its warranty replacement technically... so I have to send this back and they are overnighting (again) a Dinc2 for tomorrow... hope the box has what it should!
 
Just got off the phone with Verizon and they are going to replace my Fascinate with a Droid Incredible 2 (I had the choice of a Droid 2 or the Charge as well). Verizon did not put up a fight at all!! They explained to me that after the froyo update the issues of missed calls, battery life and crashes is a known issue and Samsung does not believe they can fix the issue with a software update, so they are replacing them. The tech did not even have me perform any troubleshooting. Looks like the Samsung Fascinate is dead...from Verizon at least.

I just hope that the screen on the incredible 2 is almost as nice as it it on the Fascinate.

One more thing.....the phone replacement is not a new phone it is a refurbished phone.
 
I called about the call issue and the daily freezes and they're sending me a refurbished Fassy. Bummer.

Next time don't say anything about daily freezes. It's the missed calls that are going to get you a new phone.

I am torn... I love my Fascinate on CM7 but a new phone is so tempting... I feel like I am cheating on my beloved phone.:-\
 
I was originally offered a Droid Charge, but when I went to the store to order it, they said "the system would not allow it"...that they are now only sending out refurb Fascinates. Looks like they are slowly shutting down the gravy train.
 
I called tech support a couple days ago for my wife and I got a new guy. While he was running me through the troubleshooting process I mentioned that this was a known issue and he stated that he hadn't heard anything and that the last update fixed it...

Well, he ended up getting his supervisor on the line and the first thing she told was that Samsung told them to just replace the phone as they, (Samsung), could not fix the issue. She then offered me a DInc2, to which I replied that was a downgrade in screens. She said it was comparable and asked if we wanted to go into a store to compare. I said yes and asked her to note my account so I could order from the store.

Once we got to the store I told the CSR there what the deal was and he and another CSR responded immediately that they have giving Charges out. They actually sounded shocked that we were offered the DInc2. Needless to say we ordered the Charge. :)
 
yeah, i tried to get on this inc2/dx2 gravy train as well and was offered a crappy continuum instead, i ended up negotiating for an original DX. should be here in 2 days.
 
Went to the store to order the charge. The rep agreed to over night shipping and when i got home i saw on my receipt that it is 2day shipping. Called up vzw and was told that it is too late to change the shipping because the order has went through! I really wanted my new phone before the weekend, looks like that wont happen
