Verizon Pixel Oreo update.

I def caved and joined the beta last night. 950MB on my VZW XL. Runs pretty good so far but this is the first day and im fully prepared to unenroll (uninroll, unroll)? lol
Even if you unenroll, you got the official version so there's no going back

Unenrolling does nothing to your device now. You also don't need to worry about getting automatically enrolled in the "P" beta. You are opted OUT of future beta releases by default and have to specifically request to join it when the time comes.

Thanks for this info - enrolled my Google Store/Verizon sim XL in the beta, got the update within seconds, unenrolled from the Beta program - all good.
Thanks again.

Just to reinforce what happens when you un-enroll from the Beta program this is a screen shot of the message you get. I then went to Settings, about system updates, and hit check for updates. There was no new updates since I just downloaded and installed Oreo yesterday. So it does not wipe your device back to 7.1.

I also still have not received the update from Verizon but was wondering if anyone has used the download to flash there phone to get Oreo now? Google has the download available for those that have not yet received the update.

I enrolled in the beta program and received a notice within a minute that Oreo was ready for download. Loaded it about 30 hours ago and all is well so far. No complaints here.

I am contemplating enrolling into the beta to get the official Oreo release or continue to wait for VZW to push it to my phone via OTA. Question - Is there going to be a difference in build number by going the beta route instead of waiting for Verizon?

I don't know for sure if there will be a difference in build number but I do remember reading somewhere that someone said VZW build numbers are usually different from the google ones but won't know until it gets pushed by VZW.

Well, I got tired of waiting and bit the bullet. I enrolled in the beta program and downloaded Oreo, build nr. is OPR6.170623.012. Seems perfectly stable. May wait a while to unenroll or stay in the beta program. My Pixel XL was purchased from Google Store and on Verizon network.

Have you, or any other forum members who've downloaded the final Oreo "Beta" within the last day or so for the Pixel XL on Verizon's network experienced any issues with HD Voice or Bluetooth in any way? Also, any info on any other bugs you're experiencing would be greatly appreciated. I'm considering jumping into the final Oreo beta myself, but, I've been hearing so many horror stories about this specific go-'round that I'm really starting to think I should just wait. Even though I REALLY don't want to :p ...

I'm not sure if you are being snarky or not but the beta is over. 8.0 is Oreo and it is official release builds being distributed

Bluetooth seems fine. Works in my car. Phone calls also OK but if you are worried you can wait a while. I didn't and am happy with the result.

OK, I found it under Settings/Security and Location, Google Play Protect. Seems to work well. It scanned recent updates. It is turned on by default. I didn't particularly like Scanguard and it seems Google Play Protect should take care of everything.

Some instructions tell you to go to the Play Store app and tap Menu and then Play Protect. It is not there. It can be found by going to Settings/Security and Location/Google Play Protect.
