Verizon pre-order thread

Good things to know , that's why I brought up the question because I never tried and maybe someone would like to but thinks because there on a installment plan they can't , just they will have to finish the instalment plan that's all after the trade it in .
I know for Verizon this is the case. Sprint does the leasing, those you can't. Just wanted to clarify if you're leasing your phone you have to trade you can't trade it, Samsung even has that in the fine print.

I prefer buying it outright but I realize it's not realistic for everyone or its easier to swallow a little bit at a time, especially at the prices we are seeing today.
I do both ways. It's interest free, so sometimes I do the device payments, make a few payments and then pay it off. Sometimes making a few payments first helps not seeing the big amount right off the bat, kind of ease into it

I mostly hate going 12 months and realizing I still owe 50 percent. Someone mentioned they now have 36 month plans.

Yeah, but you're going to spend the money either way, now you used someone else's money, your carrier or finance company with Samsung, free for a year. The end result is the same.

I've seen AT&T offer 30 months and think Sprint does 36, not sure. Sprint does the leasing also. Any of those are never going to happen with me. 24 months is plenty long. Leasing is the worse choice IMO.

Yeah, the end result is the same but I just prefer my way. Not trying to convince anyone my way is better, it's just my way.

It's also sometimes required to get the better pricing and I'm all about the best deal if it makes sense financially.

Absolutely. Sometimes the financing is required for that price. I go thru best buy a lot now because their promos might require financing, but their promo comes right off the price financed, not 24 monthly credits like the carriers do. This way you can pay it off early and still get the promo

I agree , and yes I understand not everyone wants to throw ton of money up front which makes installments a great option.

Sprints a no go , ok at least some you can and others not .

Agreed, I like paying everything upfront. That's one way for me to keep my gadget spending in check (which is already bad ).

I don't want to end up or be in the thinking, it's only $50 or whatever per month let me just get this. Eventually I may end up multiple thousands of dollars which are in installments plans. I want to pay upfront for everything and if for some reason I can't afford to pay upfront full then that device is not for me.

Again I'm not saying everyone should do this, but that's my approach and not have any installment payments. I started doing this approach couple of years back.

Yes I love that too... Also it allows me to use rewards credits or giftcards that I have saved up which makes it an even better deal.

Can't believe how dead the forums are. Samsung direct post is going good. Looks like Verizon and best buy customers aren't so chatty this round.

I ordered unlocked directly from Samsung even though I'm on Verizon. Their deals were more appealing to me.

Wonder if more people are ordering unlocked and that's why it's a bit quieter
