Verizon pre-order thread

Best Buy had a fat supply of 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max on release day. I was able to just walk in and purchase one.

Maybe Samsung will be different?

Hope you're right, but there ultra 512 is showing out of stock already.

I ordered direct Samsung ultra 128 unlocked. I'll decide which way I'm going next week. I'm certain best buy won't disappoint, but I have choices now

I believe Samsung under produces the 512GB models and that's why they are hard to get on launch day.
The 128GB will be widely available and easy to get at any time.

Just hate to put in a pre order with Verizon for 3/23 :(

If you're doing a trade in I would stick with best buy or Samsung. Verizon promo is weak. I'll just get a 1 TB card, maybe 512.

Either the S20 Ultra 512 GB is way more popular than Samsung suspected or it is in extremely short supply. Can't believe Verizon is now showing a ship date of 4-17 now on this model.

Think it's both. Samsung does a guessing game and usually the more expensive phones don't sell as many. I mean look at the specs...$200 gets you 512 memory and 16 gigs ram. The ram really is Overkill, and for most the 128 memory is enough with SD CARD support $200 really isn't getting you much IMO.

I pre-ordered the Verizon variant ultra 512 from best buy, but have been second guessing that decision since preorder launch. With the shortages I'm seeing, I ordered a unlocked 128 ultra from Samsung yesterday. I'm expecting that best buy will be failing miserably on the ultra 512. I have both orders still active yet, I'll see how it goes next week, one will be getting returned or cancelled obviously. I'm not in a hurry to get it, but by no means I'm in the mood to deal with best buy and their 2 month later phone release. I am also interested in trying the unlocked version, I don't foresee me noticing much difference over the Verizon variant, we'll see.

Verizon is still showing the 128 available, I would probably go that route, chances are you won't get the promo waiting that long for the 512

You won't. Literally everything but native video calling works and with them switching over to duo that seems like it won't be an issue either.

I'll be more interested in seeing if unlocked brings anything to the table. It'll be nice to get rid of Verizon bloat for sure. Just going to be curious if I find things that Samsung has there for options that Verizon decided for us that we don't need. Remember when Verizon thought we didn't need the auto restart feature and took it off.

Can't forget. I've gotten every Verizon model since the Note 2(remember the home button fiasco) and a couple of S models in between. There's always things that Verizon exclude. It's like they want to show that they have control over what features a phone can have on their network.

I believe that Samsung produces the 512GB in very low quantities. I'm not per ordering for a ship date of 4/17 :(

I'm out until I can order for for immediate shipping or in store pickup.

It's there any reason for you specifically wanting 512 GB model? I ordered the 512 GB model because I ordered as soon as pre orders opened but if I was in your situation I would have gone for what's available immediately. Personally I will be fine with 12/128 GB model as well but since I had the option I just went the higher config but not for any specific reason that it's a must have.

If you are on the fence, just go with 12/128 GB model and have the phone shipped along with others during pre order

Yea, I always go with the largest storage option available. I can't live with a 128GB phone.

I found it a bit frustrating that a 1TB Note10 Plus wasn't offered last year but several months down the road I don't miss there not being a 1TB option. I've found my storage ceiling as I'm back to carrying two phones. I feel prepared for any situation as it pertains to storage especially now that 512GB micro SD cards are reasonably priced so there's that. I used to believe I was well off having two phones with 64GB cards in each; this would have been circa 2013 or so.

I TB is an absurd amount of storage. I'm not suggesting someone can't make use of it but that is an extreme amount. 512 GB may even be extreme for some but it's nice to have.

With SD cards those sizes aren't necessary for the average user. I still feel 256 gb should've been standard on the ultra due to price and megapixels on camera. Also forgot about 8K video. Those are all memory hogs...

Partially true. Many feel SD is too unreliable or too slow for certain types of storage. I agree that 256GB should be the base storage on expensive devices and 512GB is a nice maximum size.
